Julie and Jeremy were both there to welcome me to this wonderful beachfront house. I was made to feel immediately very welcome. The room was lovely with a comfortable double bed that looked directly onto the beach. The separate, sole-use bathroom, was close by. I was invited to dinner that was substantial and tasty. (In exchange for 2 bottles of wine).
Julie and Jeremy were excellent hosts, extremely welcoming and very happy to share their home with people. They left a delicious breakfast out for us the next morning with delicious fruit, granola and yoghurt, yum!
Their home is lovely, we both had comfy double beds and the use of a very nice guest bathroom with a bath and a giant shower. It is right on the beach too, really couldn't be better placed, with the Marlborough wine trail just down the road, and the Picton ferry not far away either.
Will certainly stay again if back in Marlborough :)
My stay with Julie and Jeremy is one of the highlights of my three months stay in New Zealand. Julie and Jeremy welcomed me into their home with open arms and hearts, making me instantly feel welcome and at ease in their home.
The house is situated on a breathtaking stretch of coastline, with fantastic views of monkey bay from the beach. I enjoyed many hours out on their back porch reading, soaking in the sun and watching the waves. It's very easy to get into Picton and Blenheim, but this area offered me the solitude and beautiful beach access I was looking for. I enjoyed taking their two insanely sweet dogs for walks on the beach.
The house is decorated in fantastic beach house style. The eclectic style added to the charm. Julie pays close attention to little details and I was touched to find sprigs of dried lavender from the garden on my fluffy towels, handmade lotion, and water with mint in it in my room. The beds are very comfortable and the whole house is very quite, so I got many nights of great sleep here too.
Julie and Jeremy are fantastic cooks too! They have a large, organic garden that they use to create tasty and healthy meals from which they are happy to share. One night we ate delicious blue cod that they had caught themselves, such a treat. In the morning there is homemade granola, quince jam and assortment of spreads waiting for you when you arrive.
The best part of my whole 6 day stay with Julie and Jeremy have become dear friends to me. It's a treat to leave New Zealand knowing I have life long friends with some of the best people this country has to offer. My only hope is that I get the chance to host them back in the states.
Our family of 5 (the "kids" are in their twenties) stayed with Julie, Jeremy and the dogs for one night in March 2015. From the moment we stepped into their beautiful beach house, it felt like staying with friends. In our email conversation Julie had offered to cook dinner, and she and Jeremy spoiled us with a lavish BBQ. The breakfast was equally generous, neither homemade granola and fresh fruit and berries. Staying at the Beach House was a highlight on our trip!
As soon as we walked in the door, Julie and Jeremy made us feel as if their home was our home. I couldn't get over their adorable furniture and I would love to have that swinging chair looking out on the beach! Dinner together was lovely and my parents and I really enjoyed getting to know you guys. I hope our paths will cross in the future. Your welcome in our home at anytime if you come to Seattle.
Julie and Jeremy made us very welcome, we felt at home immediately. We spent the evening chatting like old friends.
The house is breathtaking, and fully meets the website description. Our room was bright and airy, with a great view of the beach. It was wonderful to wake up to the sound of waves breaking on the beach.
Julie provided a great breakfast served on the patio overlooking the beach - fantastic! We had fresh apricots off their tree - the most flavourful apricot I have ever tasted.
The house is located 20 minutes from the ferry at Picton, so is an ideal stay before or after catching the inter island ferry.
We hope to meet Julie and Jeremy again!
We were part of the household before Julie and Jeremy got home and had a wonderful evening in their beautiful house. We kayaked down to some great sea caves.
