About this listing
We offer a newly renovated, fully equipped and private basement suite. We live upstairs. The suite is 1000 sq/ft (304 sq/m).
The suite features it's own entrance, plenty of parking, in floor heating, a jacuzzi tub, and strong wifi.
We also have a baby boy, so we at times, can be noisy in the morning, but then we're ultra quiet in the evenings.
See you soon!
We're Corey and Mélanie, the Actor & Naturopathe franco-albertan couple with tons of travel under their belts....or "ceinture-fleché" in our case, being french-canadian.
Our house is in the north-west of the city, and very well situated. 15 minutes by car to downtown or 30 minutes on one direct bus from in front of our house. All the shopping and restaurants and bars you could ask for. We live about 10 minutes away from the 4th biggest mall in the world : The West Edmonton Mall. 4 million people visit this incredible mall every year.
We have everything you need. We strongly believe in giving everyone their own space and that's why we've reserved the entire basement for our guests. Just as you wouldn't want to disturb our space upstairs, we won't disturb yours downstairs. The basement has a full kitchen, private full bathroom, one bedroom. There's also living room space and a laundry room that you're more than welcome to use.
Please feel free to use the yard as much as you like. We have a fire pit and nice deck that gives onto some beautiful skies in the late summer nights. Lots of free parking on the front street and a bit in the back alley.
thanks for your interest,
Corey and Mélanie
Entire basement, including laundry room. Yard, BBQ, firepit, and anything else is yours to use. Just ask us and we'll help.
Interaction with guests
We strongly believe in people's space and privacy. We want to respect your time here.
We live in a super quiet, very spacious neighbourhood with parks and schools. It's a secluded, quiet neighbourhood, yet still a short drive away from everything you may need.
There is a bus line that passes beside the house which brings you directly downtown in 35 minutes on daytime hours.
You can also access the University of Alberta in 2 buses in 30 minutes.
Edmonton doesn't have the most developed public transportation system. It's getting better but a 20-30 minute ride is quite normal.
Usually multiply by 2 on time traveled by bus compared to car. If it takes you 15 minutes by car, it will likely take 30 minutes by bus.
Just respect the place and it's things and people, and we'll do the same.
Just no pets please.
And no inviting unregistered guests please.
Check-in and check-out times are set to both parties' availability. Please make sure we are clear on those times.
We're Corey and Mélanie (and Caleb, our baby boy), the Actor & Naturopathe franco-albertan couple with tons of travel under their belts....or "ceinture-fleché" in our case, being french-canadian.
People always ask us our favourite places in the world....we usually answer "Depends who's there." It's all about the personal connections we make and that's why we've joined this site.
We both know how amazing it can be to meet locals in any place we visit, and we've had some incredible people share their homes with us during our travels and we would like to return the favour.
Edmonton can be a beautiful city if you come with an open heart and a willing to explore.
From our incredible art gallery, to the serene River Valley to the highest indoor bungee in the world in the 4th biggest mall in the world (was the biggest for a long time, but China and the UAE have taken that title away and left us in their dust).
We'll try to help with whatever we can.
