This apartment is in an excellent location, and surprisingly quiet, down a long lane and away from the noise of the street (闹中取静). It feels spacious and comfortable -- a place where you can stretch out and feel like you're "home" if you need to relax and recuperate.
As others have said, this is conveniently close to multiple metro stations (Lines 1, 7, and 10), and very central, so getting around the city is easy.
Jia was a perfect host, helping me to get settled, and pointing out all the great options in the neighbourhood.
We had a great stay in Jia's apartment. It was so good to have our own apartment where we could relax after a busy day. The location is in the middle of the most fun part of Shanghai and you can walk to the best restaurants and bars. Jia provided us with great tips about where to go. Highly recommended!
We had an excellent stay at Jia's place. It was comparatively spacious for an urban apartment and very comfortable. We really appreciated having the extra room (a study), where we could read, work, and plan our day trips in Shanghai. It was especially hot and humid in July, so having an air-conditioned bedroom to come back to was fantastic. The location was great, with convenient access to the Changshu Rd subway station (from where it was very easy to reach The Bund, Pudong, and pretty much anywhere in the city). There were also some nice tea shops and restaurants in the area featuring many different cuisines - French, Sichuanese, Shanghainese xiaolongbao, etc. The streets in the former French Concession are tree-Iined with a lot of overhang to provide shade from the hot sun... very pleasant. Although we didn't meet Jia in person, she responded promptly to all our text messages, making our arrival and departure easy and trouble-free. We definitely recommend Jia's place to anyone visiting Shanghai.
The reservation was canceled 78 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I stayed in Jia's apartment for just over a week, and had a thoroughly pleasant stay. The place is nested deep inside a residential area, away from Shanghai's rather lively traffic. Being situated next to a conservatory, there's plenty of music in the air during daytime, but I didn't find this too disturbing. The nearest metro station is a perfectly convenient walk away and there's plenty of food nearby. I didn't get a chance to meet Jia in person, but her instructions and communications were clear and very helpful. I would definitely recommend her place to anyone.
The best place to stay in Shanghai !! The apartment is located centrally. Very easy access to metro and main areas in the French Concession. Jia was very helpful in settling us down and providing useful information for the neighborhood. She also helped with getting visa extension. Stayed for over a month and had no problems. Lovely hearing music from all the neighbors who are in music schools around the area. If we come back to Shanghai , will stay with Jia again. Thank you for making our stay the best.

About the Host, Jia
I am an architect, trained and studied in US, and currently living in my hometown Shanghai. I've been living in LA for the past 13 years, and consider myself a local too. Movies, animals and travel are my biggest passion, that's tell you something about me. Can't access facebook now, I felt kind of lost in the city I grew up. Recently my biggest passion is my new born son, a healthy strong ten months old little man.
