The Ardree House is a regular B& B. It is not a guest room within someone's residence as our other Airbnb experiences have been. The room was very clean and the breakfasts were outstanding, with menu choices including continental and full Irish. Because it was a B & B with many rooms, there was lots of creaking footstep noises above our room. There was no way to adjust the hot water coming from the shower and there was no heat in our room at night even though temperatures dropped below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The Ardree House is conveniently located within walking distance of both Park walking paths Killarney National Park and downtown Killarney. The shuttle bus will pick you up and drop you off there as well which eliminates the need for cabs.
The location of John and Norrie's B and B was exceptional. A five minute walk and we were in the heart of Killarney's vibrant downtown. The room was great, breakfasts wonderful, but the best featue, or bonus if you like, was how John's daughter helped us organize and book two of the best day trips that we had while in Ireland. We can't thank her enough for the interest that she took in getting us sorted out. We might not have the experiences that we eventually had without her input. And to top it off, right across the street from the Ardree House is Killarney's new craft beer brewery. Worth a stop for a tour and a pint. All in all, a great time spent there. Thanks so much.
Really lovely guesthouse - great rooms well decorated
Nice welcome and happy to help and point us where to go
Good location - close to town - close to National Park/Ross Castle and the start of the Ring of Kerry
Very professionally run Bed and Breakfast near the centre of town and close to almost all major tourist attractions in Killarney (Killarney National Park, Ross Castle, City Centre, Ring of Kerry). The rooms were clean and comfortable with huge flat screen TVs! We had the irish breakfast and the waffles in the morning, which were delicious! John was very helpful in providing us information on the Ring of Kerry and booking a trip to the Skellig Islands. We had a very pleasant stay!
Unfortunately we had to alter our plans last minute and we're not able to stay at Ardee House but next trip for sure. John & Norrie we're excellent at communicating during the entire reservation process.
Nous n'avons pas été reçu par l'hôte mais par une réceptionniste. Il s'agit en effet plus d'un hôtel (14 chambres!) que d'une chambre d'hôte.

About the Host, John And Norrie
My family are originally from Killarney and have always been in the hospitality industry, including my Great-Grandfather who originally ran a pub and my father who opened a hotel in the town of Killarney
I also dabbled in the building trade for many years. However it was my lovely wife Norrie who teaches Irish Dancing who actually suggested going down the B & B road.....and we haven't looked back since!
