Interaction with Guests
Your host Carlos is a long time resident in Bali and is supported by Ramona, a German girl, who has been living in Bali for a couple of years. They will be able to help you organizing car or motorbike rental, a guide for day trips around the Island, or advice if you want to venture independently, or any other needs that you may have.
Carlos is an artist painter, as the property is large there is a private art studio. Ramona and Carlos are available to help guests with information or to have a chat. Of course we love to know our guests but understand that they are staying here for other reasons than meeting us. The amount of interaction is determined by our guests.
Located in the Bukit area of Bali very close to world class surfing spots like Padang Padang, Bingin and Uluwatu. Also nearby are restaurants and spectacular beaches. The airport is 15 kilometers away, and just beyond that lays Seminyak and the greater Denpasar area.
Automatic scooters are what nearly all our guest prefer, as they are very easy to ride and only cost 5$ a day.
Cars (we have a large parking area) cost 20-30$ a day.
Car with driver (recommended if you want to explore the island) cost 70$ a day including chofer, petrol and car.
Taxis: Ask the staff and within 5 minutes one will arrive
Other Things to Note
Check-in is at 12pm; check-out time is 11am.
If you want to stay in the property until your departure, we provide a room to keep your luggage save and a bathroom to use.
Visits within each individual living space are welcome. The swimming pool and garden area is for in house guests only. We like to keep this area relaxing so that all guests can share and enjoy it.
We keep the property quiet and relaxing for all guests, this means that we don't allow loud music or parties.
As in most guesthouses and hotels it is standard procedure to register guests with the local authorities. For this we will need a photocopy of your passport, this is usually done within the same day and Passports will be returned to guests promptly.
Surf Bungalow was just what we wanted. A beautiful, secluded setting with amazing views to retreat to after scootering off to explore Uluwatu during the day. Carlos and Ramona were very welcoming, relaxed and accommodating of our awkward travel times. They were also very helpful with advice on where to go. The bedroom and kitchen are cosy and basic, but it doesn't detract from a really great set up. We highly recommend staying here.
An extremely nice place with a good view and cosy room! Carlos is wonderful and so kind to orientate us on our first trip to Bali. Amazing place with good service from his staff as well. The pool is amazing and his artwork is very very nice too. He really goes out to takes care of his guests.
We really enjoyed our stay at this cute little bungalow. The beautiful garden, the nice pool, the most funny bird and the amazing view make this place very special! Our room was very small but you can use nearly the whole area as your outdoor livingroom. Ramona and carlos are such nice persons. They helped us with everything and especially carlos is one of the cutes and most caring hosts i have ever met. Thanks for everything...we will come back!
1.the bungalow is beautiful and environment of the whole villa is really good, stay in the pool and watch out the view is a fantastic method to kill time.
2.food around is terrible and expensive compare to kits town,I could not understand some people stay in the room and ordering take away everyday,if that why just stay at your own backyard and order pizza hut?I tried almost every restaurant around and ULU is the only may worth a try but others...if you are food lover I suggest don't waste your time, ride your motorbike and go to Kira town,I could recommend a few like bamboo corner which is tasty and much cheaper than any restaurant around, and another call bale udang mang enking, that's the best restaurant I found in Bali island so tasty and not expensive, good environment and you can enjoy Bali transitional performance while dining it really worth every cent you send,so as soon as I realized it,I gave up all junk food around and would ride 40mins motor to kuta town.
3.if you stay in the bungalow you will surely need a motorbike, but the gravel road link the villa to main road is bit hard to drive so practice before you ride.
4.the roof in bathroom was leaking water drop when it was raining outside,I guess it should be fixed before next resident.
5.everything around is pretty expensive if you wanna get petrol for your motor pease get it the kuta town or the way back, cost about 8000idr,but local price is 10000.I did a surfing lesson somewhere close and it cost me nearly 20 USD and when I get to kuta beach average price is 10USD.
6.Calos is a very interesting guy and we talk a little everyday,Ramona is zealous and helpful, I shall say thank you for your help during my stay.
Place is awesome, fantastic view from the garden (it even better in the high season, pictures are not lying). Well maintained garden and guesthouse.
I had some experience to compare with. I lived for pair of weeks in different place, Jimbaran district, and Surf Bungalow is much quieter. Relaxing atmosphere and clean and tasty sea air. On the other hand (I am not saying it is drawback) is it is a little bit far from everything. However there is grocery stores, pizzerias and small restaurants in 5 minutes of driving. It is a nice place where you can take some rest. If you want to go places, you need to rent a car or bike or use taxi, just ask your hosts. I am not a surfer but the place is really close to different beaches with surfing people...
Hosts are nice people and they care about your comfort. You will get service of good hotel (with exception for eating, you'l have to order it somewhere else or go for it yourself) for small price.
Beautiful location, Great, Fun, Interesting Hosts!!!
We stayed here for 10 days as a part of our honeymoon and loved the relaxed atmosphere and gorgeous views! Carlos and Ramona made us feel so welcome! They even showed us around the neighborhood and helped us coordinate an excursion!
If you like to ride scooters its a great option for this area (only $5/day) But we didn't even rent one. We just took a taxi to the grocery store a couple of times and ordered take out. We swam in the pool every day and mostly had it to ourselves. The view includes all of the beautiful volcanoes of Bali.
The bungalow is great. The bedroom is enclosed with a/c and the kitchen is in the covered entry (website hidden) you that real island feel. The shower is hot and water pressure is good!
The excursion they coordinated for us was terrific! It was an entire day out with a visit to some temples, a coffee plantation, and the rice fields ($70). Wayan, the driver, speaks really good English and he is very calm and efficient.
Our favorite thing about this place was the atmosphere an getting to know both Carlos and Ramona. Carlos' artwork is exquisite and he has some wonderful stories!! Ramona is so kind and helpful and we loved talking about traveling with her!
We will definitely stay here again!! Thank you so much!!
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, the cottage and its tranquil surroundings are ideal for a good hideout. Be prepared to ride a scooter/ have a car as it is in a remote area. Ramona is an amazing and responsive host. Too bad I could only stayed for a day and didn't have a chance to meet to Carlos but I hope to return another time. Oh... do talk to the cheeky Myna!
