Quiet room in big canalhouse house. Stunning roofterrace with view on the inside gardens of the Herengracht. Kitchen and bathroom are shared with 2 other people.
A peaceful, quiet room (30 m2) with a view on the inside gardens of the Herengracht. Like Anne Frank, you can see the Westertower from the big roofterrace. There is internet. Bathroom and kitchen are shared. Be welcome in our community of 4; Franca, foto-editor from Italy, Bente, student art-teacher, Else, cook and student philosophy and Felix, my beautiful son of 10 years old.
Check also if Quirky 2 is available. If I am out of town myself which is during schoolholidays of my son, you can stay in the room downstairs.
I love my neighbourhood; its like a little village in one of the most beautiful cities of the world. Especially the fleemarket on saturday and mondaymorning around the corner
The central station is a 10 minutes walk from my house. From there the train to the airport goes every 20 minutes and takes not more than half an hour.
We expect everybody to do his own dishes after using he kitchen because there is not much working space.
I had a wonderful weekend staying in Else's apartment. She was very accommodating and made me feel very at home in the space. The room itself is very spacious, with a lovely balcony. The apartment is located in a peaceful area, only about a 15 minute walk to Leidseplein and a 5 minute walk to the Anne Frank house. I had a wonderful time getting to know Else, and if I ever visit Amsterdam again, I would love to stay in this room again.
My stay at Quirk 1 was lovely. Entirely met my needs. I was only there for a single evening but would stay again for a longer period if I had the opportunity.
The host was charming and made me feel welcome.
Else was a great hostess. She definitely made my first experience with airbnb an enjoyable one. The house is in a great location; quiet neighborhood and close to the train station and other main attractions. The room itself definitely lives up to its name in the best possible way.
What a great place! Else is a very welcoming host. She was very flexible with respects to my arrival, even though I had to change it on short notice. The flat and the room are beautiful, it's a house with a history. Haven't slept under such a ceiling before! The location is perfect, close to the train station, the center and lots of cafes and little shops. Else even gave me her museum card to explore the countless museums in Amsterdam. If I come again, I'll definitely try to stay at this place again.
I booked the place at the last moment with no advance and still she was super nice and helpful. The place was really nice and the host welcoming, it is in a really nice area and the room was cozy. We thank you really much!
Alles is heel goed verlopen. Heel toffe wijk met lekkere restaurantjes en toffe winkels. Klein min puntje: klein elektrisch chauffage die amper warmte gaf.
I had a really nice time at Else's place, although I booked in the same day, she made everything to receive me and ensure everything was settled for me to check in. She is also really nice person inviting me for eating, introduced me to her son who is a really cool young boy, who I had the chance to play pianno with! Wifi is really important for me, and I can't complain about it, it was just enough plus the fact that Else's had a spare bike to lend me so I could use in the city.
The room is ok. As presented in the pics. The house is simple but with a nice and different decoration. Made me feel confortable.
Thank you very much Else.

Since 20 years I live in this nice 'student house' which happened to be right above one of the most famous discotheques in Amsterdam in the 70 ties. Even Mick Jagger and David Bowie have been here!
Now its one of the most quietest places, which I appreciate. But if you can play piano you're very welcome because we have one.

Absolutely Fabulous and travelling with my son to dangerous places without comfort but most of all... Nature!
And of course I like to cook and have dinner with strange people like you...
