About this listing
Immerse yourself in the Maine countryside. Laughing Pig Farm is an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. If you're looking for a private retreat, a romantic getaway, or your family's next adventure our self-catering guest suite is for you.
Enjoy the comfort of home in the daylight basement of our log cabin. It is cool in the summer, cozy in the winter, and right in the middle of "Leaf Peeping". Utilize your own kitchen complete with electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker (and coffee), dishes, cookware and utensils. We leave goodies for breakfast along with a good selection of spices. Linens and bath towels are supplied in the large private bathroom along with soap, shampoo and conditioner. Living room has a vintage console radio, a small speaker system to amplify your devices, and a library of books to page while here. Suitable for small events such as baby showers with less than 20 people.
Suite entrance is private and separate from the main house. Enjoy the large yard, swing-set, gas grill, picnic table, and fire-pit. We are very close to many great swimming holes, so don't forget your beach towel and swim suit. Guests are welcome to borrow our inflatable kayaks and life jackets at their own risk. Cross-country Skiing/Snowmobile/Hiking trails connect to our property. Barn/property tour available upon request.
We will be here, but our interactions depend on what you are looking to get out of your stay. We can be completely hands off or we can show you the ropes on the farm. Depending on the season we may have fresh produce (eggs, veggies, etc.) available on site. Email in advance if you want to set up a guided hike or a butchering tutorial for an additional fee, season and weather dependent.
The neighborhood is rural, you can't see the neighbors for the leaves on the trees. There are many interesting sites within a short hike of the house, old foundations, an apple orchard, and more.
Local trusted Massage Therapist available with at least 24 hours notice. She can come right to the suite.
Instant access to ATV/hiking trails
Driving: About 6 miles to Downtown Bridgton or Naples Causeway. 20 minutes to Shawnee Peak or Sebago Lake. 1 hour to North Conway, NH or Portland, ME

Bridgton is a great central location. It was easy to take a day to trip to Portland or to go to the white mountains national park (about an hour or so either way). Ellen and her husband were friendly and hospitable. The kitchen was well stocked with basic elements (milk, eggs, butter...) which we really appreciate.
I recommend a stay at Laughing Pig Farm if you want a unique spot offering a peak to a life on a farm.
Ellen was super easy to coordinate with and was great. Lovely ducks and rabbits roaming around the garden!
Ellen and her family were so warm and welcoming! She greeted us when we pulled up with her girls and goats in tow. We immediately felt comfortable and were so excited to be staying with them in such a beautiful spot. Bridgton was a great central location. It was easy to take a day to trip to Portland or stay local and enjoy a day swimming at Woods Pond or one of the other gorgeous area lakes. I highly recommend a stay with Ellen at Laughing Pig Farm!
We had a lovely week on Ellen's farm. Everything was as promised--all the critters are free range and we highly enjoyed watching the perpetual parade of goats, geese, ducks and bunnies through the yard. Definitely a fun, casual spot. During our early August trip it was very convenient to hiking trails, myriad of lakes for swimming and boating, blueberry picking, summer activities like mini-golf and drive-in movies, strolling in cute downtown Bridgton, and even a day trip to Portland on the coast. It was just me and my partner but it would be fun spot for a family with young kids as well.
Ellen and her family were so genuinely hospitable. Everything I had read from previous reviews were right on the mark that's why we chose This place. The convenience to cook breakfast every morning was key for us. Our daughter loved waking in the mornings and being outside with the animals (as did I). Very clean and spacious! Wish we could have stayed longer...next time for sure..thank you Ellen and family!!
Ellen was an amazing host and the house is great. It was perfect for a night with my boys between Camp and visiting day! The duck eggs were great for breakfast and the animas on the property were adorable! Thanks so much for making us so comfortable!
We loved our stay at Laughing Pig Farm! The location is a great jumping-off point for many activities - hiking, kayaking, exploring the Sebago lake region and more. The apartment is stocked with everything you might need and thoughtful extras like fresh eggs and juice. The animals (dog, cats, geese, chicken, goats, and bunnies) are all adorable too. Thanks Ellen for a great stay!
About the Host, Ellen
Homesteading/schooling mom at Laughing Pig Farm. Life is learning, and we learn a lot here on the farm. My family and I really enjoy hosting on Air BnB, especially because we get to meet people from all over the world without leaving the backyard. This is great while the kiddos are young, as they get older we plan to do our share of world travel. My husband, Jason, is a musician and IT person, as well as our resident handy man.
