Enjoy the comfort of home in the daylight basement of our log cabin. It is cool in the summer, cozy in the winter, and right in the middle of "Leaf Peeping". Utilize your own kitchen complete with electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker (and coffee), dishes, cookware and utensils. We leave goodies for breakfast along with a good selection of spices. Linens and bath towels are supplied in the large private bathroom along with soap, shampoo and conditioner. Living room has a vintage console radio, a small speaker system to amplify your devices, and a library of books to page while here. Suitable for small events such as baby showers with less than 20 people.
Suite entrance is private and separate from the main house. Enjoy the large yard, swing-set, gas grill, picnic table, and fire-pit. We are very close to many great swimming holes, so don't forget your beach towel and swim suit. Guests are welcome to borrow our inflatable kayaks and life jackets at their own risk. Cross-country Skiing/Snowmobile/Hiking trails connect to our property. Barn/property tour available upon request.
We will be here, but our interactions depend on what you are looking to get out of your stay. We can be completely hands off or we can show you the ropes on the farm. Depending on the season we may have fresh produce (eggs, veggies, etc.) available on site. Email in advance if you want to set up a guided hike or a butchering tutorial for an additional fee, season and weather dependent.
The neighborhood is rural, you can't see the neighbors for the leaves on the trees. There are many interesting sites within a short hike of the house, old foundations, an apple orchard, and more.
Local trusted Massage Therapist available with at least 24 hours notice. She can come right to the suite.
Instant access to ATV/hiking trails

Ellen was an amazing host and the house is great. It was perfect for a night with my boys between Camp and visiting day! The duck eggs were great for breakfast and the animas on the property were adorable! Thanks so much for making us so comfortable!
We loved our stay at Laughing Pig Farm! The location is a great jumping-off point for many activities - hiking, kayaking, exploring the Sebago lake region and more. The apartment is stocked with everything you might need and thoughtful extras like fresh eggs and juice. The animals (dog, cats, geese, chicken, goats, and bunnies) are all adorable too. Thanks Ellen for a great stay!
Ellen greated us upon arrival and introduced us to her children and all the animals. Our 2.5 year old son was scared of the animals at first but it didnt take long before he couldnt wait to go outside and see the animals, he even wanted to take a bath with the geese. They were all very friendly. Ellen left fresh eggs, goat milk, juice and bread in the apartment which was thoughtful and provided us an opportunity to try something new. The apartment was clean and she took care to make sure the apartment was stocked with whatever we may need, e.g. iron, blow dryer, soap, shampoo, bottle opener, grill etc. Ellen provided some great recommendations on a first hike for our son and a good place to swim and eat. We weren't disappointed and our son completed his first hike. We will stay again.
Ellen was a great host, welcoming and willing to share information but completely unobtrusive. Basement apartment was roomy and very clean. Our son loved seeing (and petting) all of the animals everyday.
The location is wonderfully remote, comfortably placed in the woods, yet still close enough to a variety of towns that make shopping easy. There are plenty of excellent outdoor activities in the area, too.
The apartment is neatly kept, quaint and comfortable. If you are looking for simple lodgings for a getaway of any kind, do consider stopping in here.
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our night at Laughing Pig Farm. We're from Boston and loved the remote location, beautiful scenery and animals! All of the ducks, geese, goats, the dog, chicken, rooster and bunnies were wonderful to have around. I even got to hold a 1 1/2 week old bunny ... That made my day!
Ellen and her husband were very warm, friendly and hospitable. Our room was spacious and very clean. We cooked dinner and breakfast in the apartment kitchen (the duck eggs they left us were delicious!).
A lovely stay.
About the Host, Ellen
Homesteading/schooling mom at Laughing Pig Farm. Life is learning, and we learn a lot here on the farm. My family and I really enjoy hosting on Air BnB, especially because we get to meet people from all over the world without leaving the backyard. This is great while the kiddos are young, as they get older we plan to do our share of world travel. My husband, Jason, is a musician and IT person, as well as our resident handy man.
