This tiny luxury escape is a cozy cabin made of regional eastern cedar on 54 forested acres with hiking trails and beautiful views of the Appalachian foothills. It is less than a one hour drive from Music City Nashville, TN and only 45 minutes to the Grand 'Ole Opry. It is conveniently located only 30 minutes from the beautiful recreation area of Center Hill and Cordell Hull Lakes and the amazing trout fishing and canoeing on the Caney Fork River.

Gina and I are proud to be hosts on Airbnb.

The space
Get away from it all in an upscale pastoral setting nestled in the Appalachian foothills with beautiful mountain views, screened-in porch, open-air deck, a forest meditation circle, and scenic hiking trails. Explore over 50 acres that will be your own private and safe haven of seclusion. You will have Luxurious Bedding, Rainfall Shower, Private Deck w/Amazing Views, and a Kitchenette. TRANQUILITY and RELAXATION......... JUST 4 MI OFF I-40. MAGICAL.

The space

The property is called Kalien and the Keefer-Roberts cottage is named in honor of two extraordinary women. It features beautiful views of wildlife and countryside in a hollow with 2 sixty-year-old barns reminiscent of life in America long ago. It is a relaxing peaceful escape from the city. The Keefer-Roberts cottage sleeps two and has a spa-like bathroom. The living space has a Consumer Reports award-winning memory foam queen-size bed, luxury cotton sheets, writing desk, soft leather recliner and ottoman, vintage cigar leather love seat and ottoman as well as a kitchenette. A beautiful screened-in porch and open-air deck overlook the forest to relax and enjoy a book, a meal, a cocktail or a cup of coffee.

Guest access
Guests have access to the forest observation platform, scenic and private hiking trails, country roads on and around our 54 acres, an infrared/propane grill, and a meditation circle in the forest with a Native American medicine wheel made from rocks gathered from the land.

There are options for an extra cost including:

—Native American Fire Ceremony
—A Meditation Hike In The Woods
—and Several Others Available Upon Request

Other things to note
Please know that the cottage driveway is gravel and fairly steep. A four-wheel drive vehicle is not required but it is important to maintain forward momentum as you ascend the secluded ridge to the cottage.

For everyone's comfort, smoking is permitted outdoors only and great caution is requested when using an open flame of any kind. Please help us preserve our beautiful forests. Due to our wood construction, no open flames of any kind are permitted inside. The propane fireplace is only operable in the winter months.

My wife Gina and I enjoy travel, gourmet cooking, craft cocktails, fine wine, horses, and the outdoors. Nature, fine dining, working together, travel, and we can't live without morning coffee hour and afternoon cocktails. Our favorite travel destinations are Italy, the Caribbean, Spain, and Alaska. Randy is the voracious reader, and just a few of his favorite books include Atlas Shrugged, A Gentleman in Moscow, The Magus, and A Year in Provence. Gina loves movies, and a few favorites include Midnight in Paris, The Shape of Water, and any flick featuring James Bond. Randy retired in 2006 from a successful career in music, and as you might expect music is essential to both of us. A few favorite artists include Chicago, Eagles, Metallica, Radiohead, and Alison Krauss (Randy) and Josh Groban, Fleetwood Mac, and Sam Smith (Gina). We love all types of gourmet cuisine, especially Italian and Mediterranean. We value relaxation, refreshment, and great conversation. We love people, but we also appreciate our privacy. When we serve as Airbnb hosts, we subscribe to the Danny Myers (New York Restauranteur) philosophy of hospitality. When we are fortunate enough to be Airbnb guests, we are laid back and love to relax and enjoy the local food, geography, arts, and entertainment. At age 60, Randy's life motto is "No sage with all the answers here, just an encourager with a lot of questions."
