New construction (2013), loft-style space with queen sized Tempurpedic bed. Private entrance, bathroom, & patio, with shared attached kitchen. 2 blocks from subway (C), close to Barclays Center, Prospect Park, & many shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance!
Our building is a "boutique townhouse" in Prospect Heights. It is a loft-style space, meaning the bedroom, living/dining room and kitchen are all connected. We are in the middle of everything, but on a quiet residential street. You can walk to Prospect Park, Barclays Center, or any of the many local destinations, then return to our quiet home to relax.
Guests have their own space with private entrance, living area, sleeping area, bathroom, patio, temperature control and a kitchen on the floor.
Interaction with Guests
After initial introductions, we will retire to the other level and allow you as much privacy as you like! We need to access the floor once daily to care for fish, but will give as much privacy as needed.
Our neighborhood is the best mix of access to local hot spots, while being on a quiet residential street. There is usually parking to be found on the block (rare in Brooklyn!) and terrific options for dining and nightlife all around. We love it here!
The C train is two blocks away, and just about every other train in Brooklyn is available at Barclays Center/Atlantic Terminal, a ten minute walk: B, Q, 2, 3, 4, 5, D, N, R, and Long Island Railroad. Plenty of Buses too!
Other Things to Note
The apartment is on the ground floor at the front of the building, so you may hear people coming and going. We don't notice it, but if you are a light sleeper we have a white-noise machine and earplugs if needed... There's no TV, but we have business-class internet, blazing fast! There's a dishwasher, Insinkerator, and full kitchen.
We take off shoes in the foyer, and would like you to do so as well! Respect our neighbors, keep the noise down at night. Absolutely no smoking or pets in the apartment, there is a private patio in front for smokers.
The host contacted me to make sure we were situated. The accommodations were exactly as shown and the location in Brooklyn was perfect for us.
Russ is a great host. Available when needed for information or advice. The accommodations are excellent. Everything was neat and clean. The apartment is just a year or so old which is really nice. The location is very convenient to the Barclay subway station and shopping. I don't think that you could have a better Brooklyn/New York City experience.
Wow, can't say enough about how great Russ was as a host. He made sure we had everything we needed and was a super nice guy. The apartment is great and just as advertised. The neighborhood is quiet but next to some great local bars and restaurants. There is a ramen restaurant a block away called Chuko that was absolutely baller. Also, good bagels about 3 blocks away. We had easy access to the Q and C trains and had no problem at all getting into Manhattan (30-40min). All in all, a great time and great host!
Wonderful loft-type lodging on first floor of a new building in Prospect Heights. Super clean and comfortable. Location is very convenient - many shops and restaurants are nearby, and only about a 5 minute walk to the C line. Easy walk to other lines as well. The hosts made us feel very welcome too. Highly recommend.
A very nice location to discover NY and still have a nice calm space to relax. The neighbourhood is varied and worth a discovery. As for ex Prospect Park and the Botanic Garden. The appartment is big holds all you need. Well and tastefully furnished.,Russ is a good responsive host. If you are a light sleeper you might be woken by the inhouse sounds like aquarium fridge airco. But earplugs help :-). Only minus point: did not feel as personal entity as Russ uses the kitchen to cook (he asks in advance) and once we came in and his wife was in the appartment. Clear communication would help surprises.
very large, clean room, excellent bed, all you need to make great breakfast, or more, in a quiet street, quiet but in a district with groceries, restaurants, park as beautiful as central park, boutiques and streets "hype". Subway for Manhattan at 5 minutes walking.
Russ and Yunnee are very nice, helpfull and discreet
All you need to enjoy a stay in N.Y. if you like quietness and don't dislike subways
During 15 days a friend and I shared the Russ’s apartment and we had a very fantastic experience. Everything we needed was in our hands. We felt like in our home and our staying in NYC was so pleasant mainly because I had enough time to stay with my son who is studying at Columbia University
We had opportunity to visit the most important places in New York using the subway all time. There are some options to catch trains from Russ's home and it is very easy to find bars, restaurants, deli, etc near the location.
The apartment is very comfortable, clean and all things works well. Russ provided an additional air mattress for my friend and we enjoy that very much. This is my first time that a I have an experience travelling with airbnb and I can say that I'll recommend to my friends. In Brazil when we like very much something we say: "Legal !" (Cool !)
I'm a technologist, living and working in Brooklyn since 2001. I've lived all over this amazing borough, and this is my favorite neighborhood ever! It's peaceful and quiet on the cross streets, while the avenues are filled with wonderful restaurants, bars, and shopping. We love living here, and if you're in town for a show at the Barclay Center or an event in the city, we know you'll love it too!
