About This Listing
Open & airy loft-style apartment with queen sized Tempurpedic bed. Private floor with bedroom, bathroom, patio, & full kitchen. 2 blocks from subway (C), walking distance to bars, restaurants, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, Botanic Garden & more!
Our building is a "boutique townhouse" in Prospect Heights. It is a loft-style space, meaning the bedroom, living/dining room and kitchen are all connected. We are in the middle of everything, but on a quiet residential street. You can walk to Prospect Park, Barclays Center, or any of the many local destinations, then return to our quiet home to relax.
Guests have their own space with private entrance, living area, sleeping area, bathroom, patio, temperature control and kitchen on the floor.
Interaction with Guests
After initial introductions, we will retire to the other level and allow you as much privacy as you like! We need to access the floor once daily to care for fish, but will give as much privacy as needed.
Our neighborhood is the best mix of access to local hot spots, while being on a quiet residential street. There is usually parking to be found on the block (rare in Brooklyn!) and terrific options for dining and nightlife all around. We love it here!
The C train is two blocks away, and just about every other train in Brooklyn is available at Barclays Center/Atlantic Terminal, a ten minute walk: B, Q, 2, 3, 4, 5, D, N, R, and Long Island Railroad. Plenty of Buses too!
Other Things to Note
The apartment is on the ground floor at the front of the building, so you may hear people coming and going. We don't notice it, but if you are a light sleeper we have a white-noise machine and earplugs if needed... There's no TV, but we have business-class internet, blazing fast! There's a dishwasher, Insinkerator, and full kitchen.
We take off shoes in the foyer, and would like you to do so as well! Respect our neighbors, keep the noise down at night. Absolutely no smoking or pets in the apartment, there is a private patio in front for smokers.
Russ was an amazing host, and the place was spacious, clean and conveniently located. On the last day, I requested Russ if we could delay the check out time due to our schedule for the day, and he was super accommodating and understanding. It's really hard to find people like Russ in the city, and I feel very fortunate.
In a word, "perfect"! I have stayed at many Airbnb properties in NYC and only one other equally as spacious, luxurious and immaculately clean as Russ's place. Although listed as a "room", it is just like having a private apartment as you have the entire upstairs to yourself (with Kitchen) with a private entrance. Your friendly hosts live downstairs in a completely separate living space. The neighborhood is one of Brooklyn's best and is conveniently located for getting to/from Manhattan in minutes. This is a 5 star accommodation and I highly recommend it.
Great place! It really is like having your own space, and the price is right!
Russ was very helpful and the bed was very comfortable.
We were in town for a wedding near Grand Army Plaza, so we were able to walk to everything. Lots of nice bars and restaurants down the street on Vanderbilt.
The wifi was great, the air conditioning was such a relief to come home to every night. Overall, great homebase for a Brooklyn visit.
Also, you have access to your own kitchen, which is great for making yourself breakfast or some tea at night. Also, private bathroom.
I was warmly welcomed, everything was as described, in a very nice neighborhood with many places to eat nearby, and excellent access to several subway lines. The "private room" is actually a loft apartment, well furnished, spotlessly clean, with a wonderfully comfortable bed, AND ground floor!! no stairs to climb with luggage.
Russ was an excellent host. The place is spacious and has excellent decor. We were very comfortable here. I would highly recommend this place. Please thank your wife.
About the Host, Russ
I'm a technologist, living and working in Brooklyn since 2001. I've lived all over this amazing borough, and this is my favorite neighborhood ever! It's peaceful and quiet on the cross streets, while the avenues are filled with wonderful restaurants, bars, and shopping. We love living here, and if you're in town for a show at the Barclay Center or an event in the city, we know you'll love it too!
