The unspoilt picturesque village of Kilchreest has two grocery shops and one pub. The Village Inn Pub serves meals and beverages from early till late. Quiet country roads lead up to the foothills of the Slieve Aughty Mountains which is home to many protected species such as red grouse, hen harrier and pine marten. One of the most beautiful walks to be enjoyed is The Old Bog Road which was a winner of a Golden Mile Award in 2013. The popular wedding venue Cloghan Castle is located four miles (website hidden). Teresa's Church in Castledaly and The Church of The Nativity Kilchreest serve the local community. Golf, fresh water angling and wild horse photography on nearby Roxborough Mountain are only a few of the local attractions. Many of the pubs in the nearby towns of Loughrea and Gort hosts traditional music sessions on most weekends and during the week.
The only public transport available is a bus which takes passengers to and from Loughrea on Thursdays. Loughrea is five minutes away by taxi and from there there is a daily bus service to Dublin, Shannon , Galway, Limerick and surrounding areas. There is ample parking at our home.

Lorraine and Tom are very very nice people. They are warm and helpful as well. The house is fantastic and gets everything you could ask,the space, the view...Definitely will come back again!
Lorraine and her husband were very helpful from the moment we arrived. They made us feel welcome and we felt at ease straight away. In the morning we were a little late in rising out of the comfortable bed provided due to a wedding we attended the night previously. Due to this we were not expecting breakfast but Lorraine insisted we have some and it was a delicious spread. I highly recommend this b&b and will b staying again if we have a wedding in the area...5 stars
Lorraine and Tom were great hosts and fun to talk with. Their house (not the one in Galway, now rented long term) is light and airy and architecturally interesting, with pleasant views over the Irish countryside. If you are making the long drive from Shannon up to Donegal or vice versa, their location makes for a quiet stayover to break the journey and a chance to see the medieval old town of nearby Athenry.
