We had a wonderful, but too short stay at Abbey Lodge with John and Norrie. They are situated only a 5 min. walk from the heart of Killarney. The accommodations were great: Terrific beds, shower was the best on the entire trip, great parking, hearty breakfast in the morning, very attractive lobby. Absolutely no surprises. Thank you so much!
Our stay at the Abbey Lodge was wonderful! It was such a nice, cozy place with an amazing breakfast and coffee! After traveling around Ireland, Switzerland, and France- Killarney was undoubtedly our favorite place! My husband and I walked from the train station and it is not that far if you have backpacks (IF you have the correct directions)... We typed in the address that's on here on our iPhones and it took us to the wrong address. Even now- when I click on the Kilarney map on Air B&B, the Abbey Lodge is not in the correct place. Just ask for directions before. Other than that- everything was perfect! We are already wanting to go back to Killarney and stay in the Abbey Lodge again soon!
Cozy, very clean & excellent breakfast! Breakfast was my favorite part [: the breakfast room is beautiful as well. It's safe because only those with keys to the front door can enter. WiFi connection is best downstairs and okay upstairs. Shower is kinda small, but water pressure and heat were good. Location is within walking distance (~5 minutes) of town center with shops and the train station (~10 minutes or a €7 taxi ride). There are two levels and only stairs, so keep that in mind with luggage! The service we encountered was very polite and accommodating. Timely communication responses. We arrived earlier than the stated check-in time, but they let us wait inside and prepared our room promptly. It was smaller than expected, but the overall experience was great and if we ever get the chance to return to Killarney, we'd stay here again.
This place is so lovely to stay in and only a 5 minute walk away from the city and about 10 minute walk from the national park. The room was very nice and breakfast was included the next day which was a nice touch. Excellent service by all the friendly staff. Would recomment this spot to anyone staying in kilarney. Cheers, Emma.
Abbey Lodge was perfectly situated on Muckross Road, easy walking distance to all the action in Killarney, with easy access to Killarny National park. The room was quite large and overlooked a quiet area. There are many rooms there, and the place had much more the feel of a hotel or guesthouse rather than a family BnB, but that was fine with us.
We also appreciated the exceptionally well-equipped room that had a safe, hair dryer, iron, ironing board everything you might need. We even had a tub!
Parking was convenient and easy. Very comfy. Great breakfast. One of the breakfast rooms had a huge skylight so it was bright and cheerful.
The Abbey Lodge is a beautiful, immaculate and cozy property just 2 minutes' walk into Killarney City Centre. We received a very warm welcome and a great breakfast. I would definitely recommend the Abbey Lodge to any traveler going to Killarney.
Although we didn't meet John and Norrie, the staff at the lodge were wonderful and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the room where it was served was lovely. We had a great stay.

About the Host, John And Norrie
My family are originally from Killarney and have always been in the hospitality industry, including my Great-Grandfather who originally ran a pub and my father who opened a hotel in the town of Killarney
I also dabbled in the building trade for many years. However it was my lovely wife Norrie who teaches Irish Dancing who actually suggested going down the B & B road.....and we haven't looked back since!
