Nice quiet, secluded house close enough to Sedona but away from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful scenery to watch sunsets. Has all necessary essentials.
We enjoyed our stay in Oak Creek. The unit is the bottom floor of a duplex built on a slope, so it has the feel of being a walk-out basement. There is exercise equipment and a kitchen in the unit. Lots of windows all along the eastern wall. Stunning scenery. Very close to a golf resort and the red rocks of Sedona. Katherine was very accommodating and helpful.
We had a fabulous time in Sedona. This house worked out great for us to have a quiet place to rest in between travels.
It is a basement type apartment in a secluded neighborhood but very close to everything you'll want to see in the area.
Kathy provides a homey apartment with plenty of room. But as a few others have stated its in a basement and we did find spiders and crickets but it comes with the territory. Nothing that would keep us from coming back.
We dined at Elote, Cucina Rustica, for dinner and Red Rock Cafe and Fire Creek for breakfast and loved them all.
I would highly recommend doing a Pink Jeep Broken Arrow tour and heading over to Airport Road for a gorgeous sunset!
For a fun day trip about 30 minutes away visit Jerome and Cottonwood. Both fabulous little historic towns that can't be missed.
We loved Sedona on one of our many stops through Arizona.
Great location! 15 minutes away from central and west sedona. Great views all around. It's a 1 bedroom 1 bath mother in law quarters with two actual beds and a couple sofas. Strange layout but great all the less.
It was a pleasant experience. Easy to get into the home as Katharine gave us instructions on how get in. Everything was clean and spacious. Would recommend for an affordable lodging experience.
Our stay was wonderful! The guest house was so big and roomy with all the convienences of home. It was so easy to find and get to and close to town. Would definitely stay here again.
Great Location! Katharine was a good host. Communicative/responsive and she came and introduced herself the day we arrived. There was a welcome letter on the table when we got in with house rules which was helpful. The listing and photos were accurate with the exception of a small television placed in front of the larger one for reasons stated in the welcome letter. The neighborhood is secluded and quiet which we thoroughly enjoyed. There were four of us and the place was spacious enough for everyone; however, because the bathroom is nestled in the bedroom, that made getting ready and late night bathroom runs a little inconvenient (personal preference obviously).
Perhaps because the home is off the beaten path and surrounded by lots of trees and plants, but we did see lots of insects (moths, crickets, spiders, and unidentifiable) both alive and dead inside the property, particularly in the main living room. If you’re squeamish about this kind of stuff this might not be the place for you.
The bed that is in the “open” room was very squeaky so if you’re a light sleeper then opt for the bed that is in the bedroom with the bathroom. There are TONS of light switches everywhere which made for quite an adventure trying to figure out which one was going to do what. Closet/storage space was plentiful- great for a long stay I imagine. Great amenities in the kitchen (plates, cups, pots, pans, etc.). Bathroom toiletries such as body soap and toilet paper didn’t last the entirety of our visit so we had to buy our own (as suggested in the welcome letter). We were there for 3 nights/4 days. Some of the wash cloths and towels smelled sour and while we had access to the laundry facilities we did not anticipate nor have time to clean them. Take your own just in case.
Overall we had a decent stay/experience. Some pros and cons but no major deal breakers or anything horrific especially if you’re laid back/low maintenance type of people.
