Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • John and Bozena had a wonderful and tastefully decorated home It was very close to the El stop, and the room itself (they upgraded me to nicer room) was very nice, had a deck, and the pillows and mattress was among the nicest I have experienced in any airbnb homes. they were very nice and gracious hosts, and the dog bailey is so fun to play with.

  • John and Bozena provided a comfortable, clean, cozy accommodation in a beautiful home, including a secure parking place for our car and the use of their washing machine. They were gracious and attentive providing helpful information, including Tweet, an outstanding breakfast choice offering selections for any diet preference. We look forward to returning.

  • A wonderful older home with real character, a fun dog, luxurious bathroom, working bikes, and welcoming, laid-back hosts. Would stay there again.

  • John & Bozena are warm & friendly hosts. They went above standard expectations: allowing me to have an early check-in, giving me a place to rest until my room was available and loaning me a bicycle to explore the area on my first day there.

The house is a lovely 4-story home in Uptown, a half block from Redline L and the music venues Aragon Theater & Green Mill Jazz Club. Also a few blocks away is access to the waterfront park, beaches and bird sanctuary. The neighborhood is a diverse slice of Chicago. I easily navigated my way downtown daily for a conference and around the eastside in the evenings & weekend to catch entertainment. There is a keyed front gate and the home has a digital lock for guests.

The room was adequate for my needs: a closet and ottoman for my clothes & luggage, a safe and bedside table for organizing things. The bed comfortable, the linens and towels of good quality. The spa-like bathroom was shared, but always clean and available when I needed it. You can hear the train from the room, but that never disturbed my sleep. Cicadas were equally as noticable and soothing.

This was my first AirBnB experience and I chose this house because of its numerous rooms (more BnB feeling) and accessibility to the train and park. I was not disappointed, as all my needs were met and the price was very reasonable. Downtown hotel costs were 3-4x more expensive. The added bonus is that by staying uptown, I was able to see parts of Chicago a tourist would not typically see: an important aspect to me for traveling.

I would highly recommend this house and room.

    Response from John And Bozena:

Thanks Rebecca! We hope you come back again! Just so others know, there are 4 bathrooms in the home, one one each floor, and there are 3 showers so there is never a problem finding a bathroom for whatever reason. No one has to wait in case of an emergency for a bathroom or shower.

  • John and Bozena were awesome. I had friends come in from town from Mexico and John was extremely helpful and helped guide them in Spanish. John is also a talented musician and we were lucky enough to take in one of his band's show - great fun!

The house is huge and beautiful and getting a room there is a great value. Also, the neighborhood is hip and diverse and fun and a real reflection of what Chicago is about. I highly recommend staying with John and Bozena.

  • This was my first time using AirBnb and I did not know what to expect. When I arrived John had already printed out directions to many places and was always available to answer my questions. The room was spacious and they provided everything I needed to feel like I was home. I would strongly suggest staying with John and Bozena. They are great hosts and I am thankful I got to stay with them as my first AirBnb experience.
