Located only 8 miles from Hocking Hills State Park, Altenbrauch Farm's 62-acre property features a mix of open fields, small streams, wooded hills and a lonely country road. Easily pitch your tent in an open field or trek through the hills and hollows to find the perfect primitive campsite.

Within a half-hour drive, there are many opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking, hunting and fishing, and birding.

• Spacious Options: Choose from 12 acres of accessible, open meadow or explore 50 acres of deep woods with secluded trails and level primitive spots.
• Easy Access: Standard vehicles can easily access field perimeters, while 4WD vehicles or hike-in campers can venture deeper into the hills.
• Fire-Ready Setup: Suggested sites feature established fire rings and log seating. Portable fire rings are also available to move to your preferred spot.
• Campfire Wood: Gather fallen dead wood across the property for free, or buy dry, split firewood bundles for $5 at the Camp Store.

• Fresh Water & Portajohn: A water spigot and portajohn are centrally located at the check-in area.
• Outdoor Solar Shower: Available seasonally (March 1 – November 30, weather permitting).
• Camp Store: Stocked with essentials, souvenirs, and split firewood for your stay.
• Eco-Friendly Stay: We practice "Leave No Trace" principles to keep the landscape pristine—please pack out all bagged trash.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire 62-acre property, including trails, fields, wooded hills, and streams. All vehicles can drive and park along field perimeters. A central check-in area includes a fresh water spigot, portajohn, and seasonal solar shower (March 1 to November 30, weather permitting). An on-site camp store offers essentials, souvenirs, and $5 firewood bundles.

Other things to note
Avoid the heavy park crowds while staying minutes from the region's top trails, waterfalls, and natural wonders. Within a short drive, you can hike, kayak, mountain bike, horseback ride, fish, or hunt across Southern Ohio's most beautiful public lands:

• Hocking Hills State Park & State Forest (Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, Cedar Falls) – 8 miles north
• Lake Hope State Park & Zaleski State Forest
