Our stay at Templecarig was wonderful. From the serendipitous meeting of Monica's daughter at the lay-by near the guest house when we were lost to the delicious breakfasts served, nothing could have been more lovely. Our room (a twin) was spacious, well appointed and provided a wonderful view of a paddock with two mares and a foal.
Monica was a gracious hostess, cheerful and thoughtful, and offered every courtesy from local information to tips for a rainy morning outing. We were welcomed with an offer of tea / coffee and biscuits and cake served in lovely reception room. The large display case of old tools and accessories decorates the entrance and held my attention for some time.
The home is surrounded by an attractive gardens for which Monica gives credit to her husband. The local area is full of history and with a relatively short walk down country lanes one can realize the origin of the naming of Templecarrig.
