This comfortable house was part of the original housing for the cement mine in Rosendale back in the early 1900s. It's cute little neighborhood is 15 mins from New Paltz and it's hiking, walking, and climbing;15 minutes from Kingston with it's music, theater and art; half an hour from Woodstock with it's art, music and history. It's also less than an hour from many of the catskill mountain trails, 2 ski mountains, the second largest zip line in the world, hang gliding, the many historic homes of the Hudson River Valley, 2 drive in movie theaters, a hand full of wineries, and just about anything else you could want. It is 2 miles from the bus to New York City and 30 mins from the train station in Poughkeepsie which also takes you to NYC. The house has a front and back porch, kitchen, bathroom with a tub, direcTV, a big screen TV, wireless internet, an office space and a dining room. It is in a wonderful neighborhood with great neighbors. They will not impose on your privacy but will greet you with warm smiles. The house was completely renovated over the last 5 years and is very welcoming.
Jess's home is fantastic. It felt like our own home. Between the desing choices, the cozy pellet stove that kept us warm and set a romantic tone, and the wonderful neighbors, this was a great stay and we will definitely go back. Jess left recommendations for us for food, activities, detailed instructions as to where things were, and given the recent storms, kept us informed about road conditions. This was a very welcome escape that we had wanted to do, and it turned out to be perfect.
Main St Bistro for breakfast in New Paltz was ridiculously good, but the real steal was the snow. Going from NYC and an almost deep hatred of snow by this point, we fell in love with it, particularly at Mohonk and Minnewaska State Park. Jess's home is very conveniently located close to food, hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and hey, if you get snowed in, well, it just doesn't get cozier than being indoors in a place that feels like home, because it should, and Jess makes sure it does.
Thanks Jess for a great experience and hope to be back soon!
Jess has an absolutely charming house and it's so well appointed! It's immaculate, in an adorable area, and had a cozy fire burning when we arrived. She was so accommodating and helpful. Rosendale was cute as a button-- great access to amenities in the area. And what a bargain! Can't recommend highly enough.
I honestly think that at $100 a night, Jess's home is a steal. Definitely a cozy place to spend a few nights and though we didn't get to meet Jess she left a really detailed note explaining everything and recommended a few places to check out during our stay. I recommend walking the rail trail which is nearby, getting lunch at the Rosendale cafe, and driving over to lake minnewaska and hiking a few trails there. Could not have asked for a better escape from Brooklyn!
We had a wonderful stay at Jess's home. It was beautiful and homey. Communication was easy and quick. And it's a lovely area! We definitely hope to stay again!
We had a great stay here! Jess was so helpful providing great advice on trails and nearby restaurants and attractions. The home truly is cozy! Could not have asked for a better weekend getaway trip to Hudson Valley :)
We loved staying at Jess' place. She's done a great job with declaring and making it feel "homie". The location is awesome, especially for motorcycle riding around the mountain as we did.
Jess left helpful tips of things to do and was great at communicating. We hope to stay there again and recommend this place to others!
We had a wonderful, peaceful weekend break at Jess' home very comfortable house. We found the location to be really convenient for trips to sights and trails. Jess left us lots of recommendations for food and maps for hikes as well as a detailed list with a lot of useful information, as well as some basic ingredients to cook breakfast. Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely house, Jess!
Jess was an incredible host! The pictures do not do this place justice, as great as they are we were blown away upon opening the door. I took my girlfriend away on a surprise trip for her birthday and it was the perfect getaway. Close to a really nice small town and a variety of beautiful parks and hikes, Jess's house was the ultimate cozy spot. She was very responsive with any questions that we had about the house and about the area and was a total sweet heart. The kitchen was perfect for cooking, stocked with everything you could ever need, knives, bowls, mixers, etc and a fridge with all of the basics.
The neighborhood was quiet and the house was warm and perfect for a romantic getaway. I felt completely at home within seconds of stepping in the door, something that rarely happens.
If you stay at Jess's spot you will be doing a great service to your self.
Jess is a great host, and her home was indeed cozy as advertised. Definitely recommended for anybody lookin' to spend time in Ulster County
This is a lovely place in a beautiful part of the state. My wife and I visited for a long weekend, and found Jess to be a wonderful hostess - very quick to respond, and eager to give us all of the info we needed to enjoy our time in the Hudson Valley. We would definitely stay here if we visit the area in the future.
