We hope that by staying with us instead of a local hotel, you will feel more like a Concordian than just a tourist. Or if you are a guest of a local that you will feel like you have "your own place" in town. We can suggest things to do and places to go that you may not find in a travel book.
David was born and raised here, he has quite a diverse family still in the area and they too can come up with unique side trips to make your vacation more enjoyable.
Studio apt. on 3rd floor. Restaurant on 1st floor for coffee/breakfast/lunch/dinner/cocktails/live music
Interaction with Guests
We try to be available by phone and have relatives that work in the restaurant on the ground floor that can assist you if we can't be there for you.
Parking in municipal lot, in case of snow, may need to move vehicle.
A nicely furnished space that is centrally located on Main St, in a cool 1830 building, with a cozy/friendly restaurant downstairs. A few quirks owing to it being a converted attic in an old building (3 locks to negotiate, some steep stairs, etc). If you are up for a little adventure and enjoy being in the heart of downtown, you will enjoy.
Karen's studio is just great, location cannot be more perfect, very cute and right downtown concord. She emailed us a few days prior to arrival how to get the keys and some more instructions for the studio. The neighborhood was great, nice little restaurants around, and very calm. We highly recommend this place!!
The apartment was very clean and everything as described. Good jazz music on the evenings till ~10 pm. from main cafe was amazing before sleep. At the hotests days it was too warm inside, even if air conditioneer was on. But on claudy days even if outside was +30, inside was normal.
We really enjoyed our stay in Concord. The apt is right in the center, very convenient and close to all the nice local shops and cafès. We dined in both the Colonial inn and the restaurant downstairs and would definetly reccomend both. The restaurant downstairs is very lai back and fun with live music every evening, also my child danced there!! Karen and David were very nice and provided us with a gate for the stairs ( absolutely necessary if you are going to be there with a child!) and also with some toys and books for my doughter. Would go back for sure if travelling in the area!

Concord is a nice place within easy reach by car to Boston. There is no breakfast provided and no means to make coffee or tea. It must be very hot in summer as it was already very warm in spring. There is an airconditioner. The live music in the reataurant below was very loud until 12 pm.
Grist Mill is a great location to spend a few days in Concord. You can walk to many of the main attractions from here and also to several places to eat. It is cute and comfortable with quality linens and towels. Shower is small but works well with strong pressure and nice and hot. Being foreigners it would have been helpful to have had some local information about practical things like parking, grocry stores, Internet etc. , which by the way you can get from the library a couple of minutes walk away and attractions, although the tourist information office is only meters away ( just not open till 10am). Would recommend staying at Grist Mill
This is a great location! We walked to the Alcott house and the Concord Museum. The restaurant located on the first floor is has delicious food. Enjoyed live music both Friday and Saturday night. The way the bed pulls out from the wall is ingenious. Clean and well maintained. Only one complaint: the shower is tiny. If you are over six feet, some contortions are necessary.
My husband and I are doing this together, we are a "middle aged" married couple with two kids. We own and work @ our restaurant which is on the first floor of the building where the airbnb room is (that is on the 3rd floor.) David is the fourth generation "Anderson" to own the Grist Mill Building. His family was one of the settlers of Concord back in the 1600's. My family moved to Concord back in 1972 so we are newcomers compared to my husband's family. We grew up going to school together here in town and still have our parents in the houses we grew up in. We will be happy to suggest places for you to go, and things for you to do, that you may not find in a guidebook. We hope you will feel a little less like a tourist and more like a "Concordian" by being one of the only "tenants" on Main Street in Concord Center, in your home away from home for whatever length of time you stay.
