Interaction with Guests
I will be offsite but available for questions, local suggestions and problem solving.
Great family neighborhood with an ecclectic mix of 1930s and 1940s bungalows with more modern sustainable architecture. Right at the foot of down town and beautiful hike/bike trail along the lake, leading right to the Congress Ave bridge.
Buses go frequently down Cesar Chavez to down town, there are city bike rental stations a few blocks away and many, many cool places within walking distance.
There is no smoking anywhere in the house. No cats (due to allergies) but dogs will be considered on a dog-by-dog basis. There is a serious drought in Central Texas right now so water conservation is particularly important; shorter showers are appreciated. Other than that, I expect that my home and belongings to be treated with respect - just like you already would.
Probably not needed, but just in case, a few extras:
Parties and Extra Overnight Guests are Strictly Prohibited
Please Do Not Sleep On or Move Furniture
Quiet After 10:00 P.M. (Respect Residential Neighbors)
Most of the time I can be flexible with check in and check out times - just ask.
cozy, warm and easy to go SXSW area. have all ready for pleasant stay. Caitlin is very kind and reliable host. I love to recommend this place for Austin visit.
The house was charming and in a great location. Caitlin was a wonderful host. She was responsive and provided useful details and suggestions for our stay. I'd definitely rent again!
Great space with convenient access model for getting in (no key needed). Would stay there again
Caitlin's place was awesome and exactly what we needed for our festival weekend. I stayed there with 3 friends and it was comfortable for all of us. Caitlin was out of the country but the instructions she left were easy to follow and we never had any problems. Walking distance from Rainey and 6th Streets, not to mention some great riverside running trails and Mexican food spots. We'd definitely stay there again next time we're in town!
My stay at Caitlin's place was really great. She has a sweet sweet house, in a really calm neighbourhood. Also, the house is near the Colorado River/Lady Bird Lake (5 mins walk)- so it's perfect if you want to do some kayak/paddleboard- and 20 mins walk from downtown. Also, there is a bus, the 17, that runs really often and take you straight in front of the Texas State Capitole, the Congress St. and the Museum of Fine Arts. If you have a car, you'll easily find a place to park on the street.
Also, the East Austin is amazing: it's not touristic at all, you have plenty different bars around the house, especially on 5th,6th and 7th St . Also, the restaurants in this area are soooo good! It's the hispanic part of Austin, so if you like tacos & tamales, you'll be more than happy!
I haven't met Caitlin since she was in Europe, but we constantly kept in touch and she was really available. Also, she was comprehensive, sweet, kind, helpful and open-minded.
Four friends and I stayed at Caitlin's while visiting Austin for the weekend (a college reunion of sorts). Her bungalow was the perfect home base -- clean, pretty, colorful, full of character. Caitlin was a kind, generous and easy to work with. Being in the East Austin neighborhood made us feel local and creative, worlds better than a over-polished hotel. We couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay. Whole-heartedly recommended for those who want a real and playful stay in Austin.
