I had a great time during my stay. Oscar came to pick me up @ the Airport. They showed me around and made me feel very comfortable. Great family, very educated and respectful. It was a great experience.
I honestly can't think of enough positive things to say about Jennifer and Oscar as hosts! Jennifer was very responsive and friendly throughout the inquiry/booking process; and they both immediately made me feel relaxed and comfortable in their home when I arrived! They were on hand to answer any questions about getting around town. Oh, and Jennifer brews a mean pot of coffee in the morning! The bedroom is ample size and private bathroom is directly across the hallway. The property is located in a quiet residential area near Chinatown/Echo Park, smack in the middle of Los Angeles proper. A Walmart neighborhood market is within walking distance. You can literally get everywhere from this location--by car, metro train, bus, etc., since there's a freeway on-ramp right around the corner, and a couple major arterial streets traverse the neighborhood. If you want to do some local strolling, just a couple blocks away is Grand Park/Civic Center, which has beautiful landscaping, water fountains/wading pool, plenty of tables/benches, and even a Starbucks! The park is surrounded on all four sides by major landmarks, including the Cathedral of our Lady of Angels, the iconic city hall building, and four different performance venues as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely book here again!
Oscar and Jen are great hosts. They gave us great advice on what to see in downtown LA. They lend us their camping chairs to watch the Rose parade. We had a great time in LA!
The hosts are very welcoming and hospitable. However, the physical conditions of the space could use some work, and you could find better accommodations at the same price or less.
Staying with Oscar and Jennifer and their lovely family has totally changed my opinion of Los Angeles…I now love Los Angeles! From their home, I was able to turn downtown LA into a walking city…there's nothing better than that. There are Zipcars near by, so when I did needed a car, I had a car. The light rail is right there also. The whole family was wonderful and I look forward to a return visit. Thank you Oscar and Jennifer!
I stay there about 6 days
and Oscar And Jennifer Arce are very nice, the room and environment are comfortable, I'm lucky because I find there, I will come back next week and still live here
many thanks and best wishes with Oscar And Jennifer Arce
Jennifer & Oscar were friendly, gracious, unobtrusive hosts who made my stay in downtown LA very pleasant. The location is outstanding.
This was our first experience with Airbnb and I cannot imagine how it can get any better. Oscar and Jennifer were so nice and friendly and their two children so smart and funny. The room was ultra comfy and the bathroom did not lack a thing. Parking was free at the house and Walmart, Restaurants and of course Downtown is reachable by foot. All in all highly recommended! Oscar and Jennifer really convinced us to use Airbnb more often and who knows... if the government shutdown stays in effect we might come back in just a few days. :)
Oh and by the way: Their daughter was right: you will indeed dream of unicorns, rainbows and flowers in their bed. ;-) <3
Oscar and Jennifer (and their children) were lovely people to be around with. check in was really smooth and the room was nicely set up for the stay. And it's always a plus when you have the bathroom to yourself. Also, i wanted to be near Little Tokyo so the location was perfect for me. I could either walk or drive there easily. Not to mention chinatown is just a stone's throw away as well. Parking on the street was easy - you just have to make sure you park on the right side of the street come thursday and friday for street cleaning.
We enjoyed staying at Oscar's and Jennifer's place. We had everything we needed. We had a car such that it was no problem to reach everything from there, but if you're looking (email hidden)ly bar district, you have to drive a little. But this could be because of our lack of local knowledge. All in all our stay was great thanks to them.
We definitely recommend this place.
