Peace and quiet with a beautiful water view and private bath for your bedroom with queen sized bed; room for a single air mattress. I like kids, and would consider the use of the two sleeper chairs in the living area. Guest quarters separated from owner's by large living-dining area. Unlimited use of that and full kitchen and deck. 10 mi s.e. of Newport by car, 4.5 by boat. Kayaks and gear for all sizes and talents. Plenty of marsh and forest to roam. Or just read, relax, think, write, unwind.

My friend and I went to Wallace's to find a nice place to work on our theses, and enjoy some fresh air. We got far more than what we could've hoped for. The location of Wallace's place is extremely beautiful, with grass, water, forest, marsh and other beauties. Wallace himself…

Wallace was an outstanding host with a gorgeous and unique home! He was prompt and thorough with his pre-trip communication and coordination, and accommodated our late arrival on the first night. The drive through the forest roads to his house was a bit challenging in the dark,…

Staying at Wallace's home was by far the most wonderful AirBnB experience I've had. It is a gift to spend time with a person and in a space so rich with worldly experience, sincere kindness, and profound appreciation for art and nature. Wallace's home is the perfect place to unwi…

A peaceful paradise, beauty in every direction. Rough road, but my little PT Cruiser managed nicely - also somewhat rough walking, at least for an "honored citizen" with a newish hip. My sturdy walking stick remained behind for future guests. Wallace is a treasure, and his hom…

Wallace was a delightful host. The drive to his home was lengthy but very scenic and his directions were perfect! He was very accommodating and had many extra things for us to utilize including kayaks and crab traps. I would say this is for the adventurous traveler and those who…

I loved the location and the view of the water! Wallace took me on a kayaking tour. If you like solitude, peace and quiet, water, birds, forest- then Wallace's place is perfect.

Once you get here it is a lovely spot with a gracious host. But it does take some effort to get here over the rough single track with center grass strip road--be sure your car has high clearance. Wallace is a very interesting and knowledgeable host; good conversations. Howeve…

Response from Wallace:
Thanks, Mary. I always appreciate useful feedback and will take care of what can be changed. Most of the road has been recently scraped, and even before I've had very low cars (Prius and Mini) come in, though I do provide a caveat to drive carefully.

The price is low, and just the use of kayaks would cost this much in town, but PLEASE do not book for a cheap stay. Read the description and "rules", etc. I wouldn't share part of my home just for a l…

Getting around

Access is by 4.5 miles of gravel road from paved part of SE 98th, and the last 2.4 miles are one lane and a bit rough, not ideal for sports cars or Prius, though I've even had guests arrive in a Mini…
