The Space

Wonderful apartment in the best area of High Albaycín (the old town). Very charming and sunny. It has a very comfortable double bed with a latex-futon mattress on a tatami base.
Silent, sunny, cozy, birds singing awakenings, wooden and warm appartment fully equipped to make you feel at home during your days in Granada. Wi-fi connection. Music system. We don´t have TV, but we do have a projector: enjoy big screen cinema at home!

Because of its wise construction the house is cool in the summer, you need to keep the blinds on during the heat hours. At night and in the mornings the fresh air from the mountains makes you feel at the best temperature: unique from this city!! There is also a fan with which you can have fun! And in the winter it feels like summer: it has an ecological almonds-skin heater. The best heat!!

Great location: in the center of this emblematic neighborhood: next to Plaza Larga (the main place in the High Albaycin), where there are all the little shops and a daily open market. Close to the best restaurants and bars. 2 minutes to Mirador San Nicolas and Sacromonte (flamenco caves). Alhambra is 15min. walking distance through the Alhambra´s forests. MiniBus 31 stops 20 meters from the house. City center is only 10 min. walking down distance, and 15 minutes walking up ;-)

You can get home with mini bus number 31, last stop. You have the street in the square where the bus stops. 20 meters walk. There is a free open parking 5 minutes walking distance (in Carretera de Murcia, after junction with Calle Pagés).

The house is very special... Birds wake you up and you can see the sun rising behind the mountains.

Make from your stay in Granada a magic time!!

Guest Access

Whole house. Books, films, music, kitchen amenities and basic products (soap, salt, spices, ...), wifi, projector, Ecological veggy box on their order, washing machine.

Interaction with Guests

I am away at the moment. Happy to take them to anything interesting happening in the "non turistic" agenda of granada when I am there.

The Neighborhood

Its people, its freshness, its quietnes, its birds... the sunrising, the sunset, the bars around, the Alhambra views form el mirardor San Nicolas (2 minutes from the house), the most antique flamenco club (recommended place in my list), the Sacromonte and its caves, the river, the mountains, ... everything is magical!!

Getting around

mini bus 31 and 35
everything is walking distance and great walks!

Other Things to Note

Be careful... Granada bewitches you with its beauty!

  • Quartier typique arabe avec un appartement bien sympathique. Nous avons avons passé une nuit très reposante!
Le tarif est cependant un peu excessif en comparaison de l'hébergement.
    Pour une nuit c'est parfait!

  • Belen's flat was cozy and felt lived in. It had all the necesary cooking utensils and we loved that it was environmentally friendly. Belen was an excellent host. She was always in contact and answered any questions we had. They were some things that were difficult for Belen to control since they were more about the neighborhood and not the apartment. It was a little challenging to get to with luggage (don't try driving in, instead park closer to Gran Via and take a taxi) and for light sleepers, hard to get a good night's sleep due to barking dogs and loud scooters. Despite these issues, it was well worth the experience of staying in this comfortable flat and picturesque medieval neighborhood.

    Response from Belén:

Oscar, bring ear plugs next time! But you may miss the birds singing early in the morning ;)
Just want to state that for those who come by car, you have a free parking 5 minutes walking: Carretera de Murcia. Gran Vía is not a good option.

  • Belén is a wonderful host, and her apartment is beautiful. Belén was out of town when we arrived, but put us in contact with her friend Elaine. Elaine met us, and was gracious and kind even though we arrived a few minutes late (our bus from Malaga was delayed, and we had no cell or wifi service to get in touch with her or Belén to notify them of the delay). Elaine showed us the essentials (how to light the hot water heater, how to light the gas stove, etc), and even brought us bread and olives for a midafternoon snack, which we greatly appreciated after our long delayed bus ride from Malaga. We had no problems during our stay, but knew that Elaine would be there if we needed it; she replied immediately when we texted to let her know we were leaving the apartment at the end of our stay ,and gave us good advice for finding our way to the airport. Belén's apartment is perfect. Beautiful sunlight and views in the morning, cool and comfortable for siesta in the afternoon (if you close the shades during the day like she recommends), and perfectly cool and breezy overnight for sleeping despite soaring temperatures all day. Belén left excellent, clear instructions to care for the apartment, and excellent recommendations to enjoy the neighborhood.

  • Belen was an excellent host . She met us at the apartment and spent some time telling us about good places to visit and eat. Her apartment is at the top of a building with views over the Albaycin. quite wonderful!
The apartment has been creatively furnished with interesting pictures and books. The only negative I would say is that my friend had to sleep on a matress on the floor. She was comfortable but we are both over 60 and active but this would not suit everyone. My bed in the bedroom was very comfortable.
Belen arranged a taxi for us which unfortunately we didn't take as we mistakenly took another one. She was so helpful and I would recommend her place for its atmosphere of calm and position.

  • Belen is a lovely, wonderful, friendly and helpful host who went out of her way to give us ideas and to arrange bookings on buses where it was difficult for us. Really appreciated her welcoming touches. We loved Belen's place. It is in a fantastic and fascinating part of town with great views from the windows. At the same time the flat is a cool, exceedingly comfortable and peaceful retreat. We love Belen's sense of colour and her artistic sense. We would love to stay here again anytime.

  • This place is magical. As simply as that! And Belèn is the best host in Spain.

  • Belén's apartment was a little joyous find for us in the middle of the 'old town' of Granada. The apartment was fully ready for anything from the spices in the kitchen to the towels left out for us for the shower....
We loved playing our dvd's at night time on the 'large screen' and projector whilst sipping beer bought from the local supermarket.
It was super clean, great location, easy to find, comfortable space, amazing views from the windows of the hills of Granada and watching the Andalusian way of life.
Belén couldn't have been more helpful with speedy replies via email, to greeting us at the us hints and tips of what to do and where to eat and even calling us a cab for the airport on the way home. The local area has some great little restaurants and bars for a cana and tapas, only a very short walk from the best view of Granada and Alhambra. Very cute and fun place to stay!

  • We had a warm welcome from Elaine, Belen's friend. She let us in to drop our bags after our overnight train trip from Barcelona. We returned a few hours later for a comprehensive check-in. The house is airy and light filled but with good shutters to keep out the heat. The neighbourhood is lovely and quiet with the occasional dog bark or chicken heard. The staff at Bar Aixa let us linger over our prolonged breakfast, for which we were most grateful. Our four days in Granada will be long remembered. House was very handy to bus route and taxi stand. Thanks, Belen and Elaine.

  • I didn't meet Belen, her friend was there waiting for me,she is a kind lady.Belen's place was great, better than the pictures, very comfortable, quiet and lovely.Yes it's true that in the morning when you are still in bed,the birds sings. The host also left papers of advices on the table, about useful informations in Granada.I went to the restaurant (Zoraya) she recommends, just two minutes from the apartment, with flamenco show, just great! Both the foods and the show.
Thank you Belen, also your friend, sorry I can't spell her name.

I am a world´s explorer. I love to travel by bike, by shoes, and... here and now. I live in Albayzin because I am happy of waking up with the birds singing every morning and see the first sun rising behind the mountains.
