Located directly on the shores north of Victoria, this unique waterfront suite looks east over the Haro Strait. Offering direct access to the famous Parker Beach, it is also located close to excellent golf courses, bike paths and local shops.
Smell the ocean air & listen the surf come in! This renovated top floor private one bedroom suite is located in Cordova Bay and comes with separate entrance, parking, kitchen/bath, private rooftop patio, beach access, nearby golf course & cycling.
This very private suite is located on the very top floor of this Mid-Century Modern style west coast water front home. Both the bedroom and the main living area look out over the Haro Strait towards the San Juan Islands. Depending on the cloud cover, Mount Baker may make an appearance as well. The large sliding door from the living area opens up to the private rooftop deck, a wonderful space for a private lunch or dinner. The suite has a full four piece bathroom and a small kitchen area, complete with with fridge, stove, microwave and sink. A handy combination washer/dryer unit is tucked under the countertop. Access is via a private walkway; there is parking space allocated for one vehicle.
The house is directly on the waterfront in Cordova Bay. Guests can walk down to the water and access the beach from the house.
Guests have a private suite with all necessary amenities. They have full privacy, with their own separate entranceway.
Road cyclist are close to all of the roads (and Galloping Goose Trail) that make Victoria a favoured cyclist destination. The household owners are cyclists themselves, and can give your tips and advice on where to cycle. For MTB'ers, one interesting nearby destination is 'The Dump' - do a search for 'Hartland Landfill"
Plenty of options. The Cordova Bay Golf Course is an 18 hole, daily fee public facility, featuring unbelievable views of Haro Strait and Mount Baker. It has been named one of the "5 Great Golf Destinations" by Golf Canada Magazine. It is ranked in the top 100 Women Friendly Courses in North America by Golf for Women Magazine and was given a Four Star rating on Golf Digest's 'Places to Play List'.
Also nearby is 'The Ridge Course'. This is a 9 hole, par 3 course that operates all year round. With stunning views of Haro Strait and the nearby San Juan Islands, you get a breathtaking backdrop for your day of golf.
Mattick's Farm Market, right by the CB golf course, has well over a dozen boutique unique and interesting shops to choose from. The market has a variety of shops, a market, mini-golf, garden centre and a renowned tearoom and restaurant known as Adrienne's Tea Garden (great breakfasts!). The Gallery focuses on regional art, while the Red Barn Market offers fantastic fresh (and local) produce, meats and, well, everything any foodie would ever need to make a fantastic meal. Other shops offer a wide variety of handcrafted pottery, handmade quilts, equestrian accessories, garden wares, kitchen goods and gear, British Columbia wines and a whole lot more.
Out and about:
The Butchart Gardens features fifty-five acres of wonderful floral display are open to the public. It offers spectacular views from the many paths that meander through the four main gardens. In 1904, Jennie Butchart began to beautify a worked-out quarry site left behind from her husband's pioneering efforts in the manufacture of portland cement. The family's commitment to horticulture and hospitality spans 100 years, and continues to delight visitors from all over the world. From the exquisite Sunken Garden to the charming Rose Garden, the gracious traditions of the past are still maintained in one of the loveliest corners in the world.
Mount Douglas Park is located just outside your door, with a picturesque trail system for you to explore and enjoy. From the park, visitors can walk the shores of Cordova Bay, hike trails lush with the abundance of ferns and wildflowers, towered by Douglas Fir and Cedar trees overhead.
Trails lead you to the summit elevation of 213 metres. This 360 degree lookout is spectacular, with views of rural Saanich, the city lights of Victoria, and further, the Olympic and Cascade mountains in Washington State.
Just a 15 minute drive to downtown Victoria by car or transit, and just 10 minutes from the University of Victoria. The Airport is 15 minutes from the suite, and ferries only 20 minutes away.
Guests will have a private suite that is theirs to use. They have their own bathroom, kitchen, patio and laundry. There will be parking that is allocated for their use.
Interaction with Guests
We will be available to assist the guests with their stay, but will not intrude on their privacy.
Parker Ave. is its own unique community, located just north of Victoria. Private and secluded, yet neighbourly, the community has many long term residents who take pride in their neighbourhood. That being said, we have more deer than people on Parker! The waterfront area is one the favourite dog-friendly beaches in Victoria, and offers miles of walking and access.
Public transit is located out on Cordova Bay Road, about a 5 minute walk from the suite. The neighbourhood is right on the Galloping Goose/Lochside bike trail that goes north to the ferry and south to Victoria. The airport is 15 minutes north of the suite, and the ferries an additional 5 minutes beyond the airport. Downtown Victoria is located about 10 minutes south.
Other Things to Note
Please respect the wildlife on the property - there are plenty of deer and rabbits that frequent the property. The occasional otter rummages across the lot as well.
Please, no smoking or noisy events.
I'm a busy consultant who call Victoria home, when I can. I want to make sure everyone who stays at our suite has a peaceful experience. Victoria is a fantastic town and I'm glad you're coming for a visit!
