Our family stayed one night in two beautifully decorated rooms in Michele's charming old house. Bathroom was newly refurbished. Michele was very helpful in an unassuming way. Served a great breakfast. Highly recommend.
We had a great experience staying at Michele's inviting farmhouse in Corcelle-Les-Arts--a short drive from Chagny, Volnay, and Beaune. We had a private entrance to our warm, cozy room, which had a very comfortable bed, plenty of clean linens, and charming decor.
Michele had excellent suggestions for local restaurants and helped us book a reservation at Pierre et Jean--the best meal we had in France.
Each morning, a lovely breakfast was prepared with good coffee, yogurt, bread, and fruit. We would highly recommend this house for anyone looking to tour Bugundy.
Besides great location and warm hospitality, Michelle organised a great wine tour!
Family room was great - essentially a little house with a separate entrance and very cosy. The breakfast room is in a beautiful space, felt a little like being in Alice in Wonderland.
Michele was a wonderful host and went above and beyond arranging mountain bikes for touring the vineyards, and lunch and dinner reservations at some quite fabulous restaurants.
The B&B is essentially in the middle of the wine region stretching from Beaune to Chagny and is a great starting point for bike tours along the vineyard bike route. About 5 km to Meursault, and 12km to Beaune. Stay on the bike route - and off the highway with your bikes.
Night time excursions for dinner are probably best done with a rented car as taxi's can be quite expensive.
Michele arranged that we could finish our stay with an incredible lunch at Château de Pommard. She arranged that our bags were brought to the restaurant by the bike rental van - allowing us to take one last leisurely bike ride through the vineyards before leaving.
Without a doubt a great stay - what a bed & breakfast should be! Would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to bike, eat and drink their way through Côte de Beaune.
Lovely place , very close to beaune . A very comfortable room and an extremely gracious host - Michele . She helped us get reservations for an outstanding meal in the middle of the vineyards.
An early morning run to the nearby lake is highly recommended
We had a wonderful stay here and would love to return some day. The cottage is gorgeous inside and out, with comfortable beds and a small but well equipped kitchenette where we cooked some lovely dinners. The garden was a favourite place for the children and we enjoyed eating dinner out there one night. The children loved the lush lawn, the swing and climbing rope and meeting a couple of other children staying in the main house. Michele was a perfect host and the lavish breakfasts she made for us each morning were a highlight for the whole family. My children loved her home made lemon curd so much that Michele kindly shared the recipe with me.
The village is tiny with no shops but this made it a lovely place to stroll down the lane and out to the fields beyond the houses. We had a hire car so everything, including Beaune, was very quick and easy to get to.
This cottage was easily one of the most relaxing and picturesque we stayed in during our European vacation, exactly what I had imagined when I imagined the French country side.
We spent 3 wonderful nights in Michele's fabulous B&B in Corcelles Les Arts, a small quiet village a short distance to the wineries and Beaune. Michele was a delightful hostess and provided all the assistance we needed to explore the region. We highly recommend The Castle Winery B&B as a base for (website hidden) and Mike King
The family room was lovely! We only stayed one night, but it was a wonderful start to our trip, with an evening exploring the local towns, a sound sleep and a delightful breakfast on the lawn under the walnut tree. The swing hanging from a limb of the tree was the only thing that tempted the girls away from the delicious breakfast.I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet rural base. If you are planning to use the cooking facilities, do shop before you arrive as the nearest shop is a little drive away.
It's the second time we have visited Michel, and it is still second to none. Michel is a wonderful host and the whole place is beautiful.
The house was comfortable and charmingly decorated. The kitchen contained a nice assortment of plates, cups, forks, knives, pots, pans, and of course wine glasses and an excellent rabbit-style corkscrew. I was mildly afraid that the wood stove wouldn't throw off enough heat, but I was wrong--the house was plenty warm and smelled nicely of wood to boot. The hot water in the shower didn't run out (we were three people) and the bathroom was clean and modern.
Breakfast was ample, varied, and delicious. We were served croissants/pains au chocolat, white and seed bread with butter, marmalades, orange juice, yogurt/fromage blanc, and coffee/tea. This was our chance to chat with Michele, who was a very gracious host and provided good advice and maps about where to go in the Beaune area. She claims her English is not great but I respectfully disagree. :-)
Overall, we had a great experience. I would definitely recommend this b'n'b for those who have a car and want to experience something more homey than a hotel.
