The Space

See for miles is a comfortable family home, with two rooms, one Queen-size room, and one Twin Room. There is a bathroom for guests to share. Guests are also welcome to share the living spaces, courtyard, deck and gardens.

You truly will be able to see for miles right over Pegasus Bay to Kaikoura on a clear day, and lovely views over the Estuary. The lights are spectacular at night.

There is a choice of Breakfasts for Guests. We offer fresh or stewed Fruit or berries, from our own gardens if seasonal, with a variety of Cereals and yoghurt. Then, bagels, toast, or breads to have with home-grown- and- made jams and jellies. Of course there is great coffee, tea, and fruit juice to enjoy with the food.

We enjoy meeting our Guests, and assure them of a warm welcome on arrival, and as much help as we can offer during their stay. We love to hear Travellers’ tales, and may be able to offer one or two of our own. We are very fortunate that airbnb sends only the BEST GUESTS to See for Miles. We have been delighted to get to know them all.

There are two family cats who make themselves fairly scarce when visitors are here.

There are cafes and restaurants within walking distance, and a good uphill walk home to enjoy.

Buses leave for the City Centre from outside the property, every half-hour, and back of course.

We are high on the hill in a residential neighbourhood, with safe street parking outside.

  • Judith and her B&B were absolutely wonderful. The view from her house is amazing and Judith was very accomodating during my (short) stay.

  • We arrived in christchurch on an early morning flight landing at 5am. I was pleasantly surprised via email that Judy said we could check in to her place as early as 6ish am. Wow talk about flexibile check in time :) Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome, friendly conversations and refreshing tea and coffee. Jana and I were blown away by the magnificient views from her living room and also her tv room - "a picture is word a thousands words" so I will let you travellers out there see for yourselves rather than me describing the view. Our bedroom was very homely and comfortable and the shower and bathtub a luxury for the wearied body travellers. Breakfast was delicious, with Judy's homemade jams being the highlight of the most important meal in the day. Some people you just naturally enjoy talking to and Judy is one of them with stories of wonder and experiences you admire. We enjoyed the first day so much that we stayed a second day and then came back again for a 3rd night after our travel around the south island. We highly recommend Judy's b&b in the Port Hills and if you are active, you can run or walk amongst the grandeur of the Port Hills. Thanks Judy for your warm hospitality and generosity. Big hugs from Jana and Bao

  • I had a very brief stay with Judith. The house is very nice and has a great view of the city looking out to the east, with the Pacific Ocean in the distance.
It was a nice relaxing atmosphere, pleasant company and I would recommend a stay here to others.

  • Judith makes all her guests feel welcome in her place high overlooking Christchurch -- and she was especially so for my sister and I on our last visit. It was the second stay there for me -- and I hope certainly won't be my last. She is a warm and delightful host in all respects.

  • Judith is a great host. She makes you feel welcome in her nice house with a beatiful garden and an amazing view over Christchurch. Her selfmade jam is delicious. We were impressed about the stories Judith told us of the earthquake 3 years ago and about her travelling. We hope she can realize her great plans!

  • This was my second stay at at Judith's during this trip and she gets five stars in all categories for a wonderful B&B experience. Her home and gardens are beautiful, the views from Huntsbury Hill are dramatic, and she is the consummate hostess. Having a car makes access there easier, but there is bus service on Huntsbury. A first-class B&B in all respects.
