Interaction with Guests
Jon and Liz would be happy to advise you on restaurants and what to see and do during your stay.
La Petite Tour is in the heart of a wine producing region and is the perfect base from which to explore everything that the region has to offer. The cultural centres of Pezenas (only 18.5 km, less than 25 mins away), Montpellier and Narbonne are all within easy reach. All the local villages have weekly markets.
We moved to Puissalicon in 2013 to realise our long-held dream to live in the Languedoc. We can honestly say that the region has not disappointed us: the beaches are a short drive away and the mountains, the lakes and vineyards provide the perfect playgrounds for walkers, cyclists, wine buffs and house hunters. Puissalicon is a friendly, busy vigneron village that boasts three domaines so wine tasting and tours of the vineyards are high on the list. A boulangerie, epicerie, post office, doctor and a friendly bar serving food are all less than five minutes walking distance.
A good range of restaurants and bars are close by and we would be happy to advise you.
Visitors can explore the great outdoors: canyoning, canoeing and kayaking in the rivers Orb and the Cesse are very popular. Cycles are available for hire locally. The Gorge d'Héric offers fabulous mountain walks of all grades and guided climbing and abseiling tours are available. Canoes, sailing, wind-surfing, swimming and other activities are to be found at the Lac du Salagou Base de Plein Air.
La Petite Tour is 28 km (30 minutes) from Beziers airport, 89 km (60 minutes) from Montpellier airport and 114 km (75 minutes) from Carcassonne airport.
Other Things to Note
An additional person can be accommodated on the comfortable single sofa bed in the reading room at a nightly charge of 30 Euros.
Not suitable for young children or persons of limited mobility
Minimum stay of 2 nights
We had a wonderful time at "la petite tour"! The room is exactly like the pictures, beautiful, cosy and there is a sweet vanilla fragrance floating in the air. Sadly we haven't met Liz but Jon was a fantastic host. He prepared for us a delicious French breakfast and we also shared few glasses of rosés in the local bar. We could have stayed longer and would consider revisiting. Many thanks to Jon and Liz.
About the Host, Jon & Liz
We are francophiles from Cambridge UK. We fell in love with the Languedoc and decided to stay. There is always something to discover here, a new mountain walk, a new restaurant or bistro or a delicious new wine. One of us speaks french, guess which one?!
