Beautiful property and well located, away from the noise yet within a 15 min walk to town.Eleomora is a kind host and made us feel welcome.
I love Illa Wasi! Wish I could've stayed longer! Stayed for two days and never left the grounds. Jorge (sp?) was very hospitable and always made sure I was comfortable! Everything is advertised... Just wished I got to meet Eleonora. Mahalo Nui loa! Ciao!
Thanks Lalaine, It was so great to have you there, and again, am so sorry I did not get a chance to meet you in person :/ Jorge said it was such a pleasure to have you at Illa Wasi.
Just noting here what you wrote to me after this review due to your Ipad issues:
I just wanted to let you know that my iPad is not functioning properly and I wasn't able to rate Illa Wasi five stars... Your place should be a hundred stars!"
IllaWasi is an amazing, magical, relaxing place! My family and I loved our time there! Debra and Jorge were very helpful and we enjoyed our starlit evening chatting around the fire. Blanco (the alpaca) and Poosh (the puppy) were great companions for us to play with as we spent some down time in the Sacred Valley. I would highly recommend this wonderful sanctuary away from the crowds.
Thank you for your review Bekah and we're delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Debra and Jorge really loved having you and your family here at Illa Wasi. You are welcome back any time. It's great that you got time to enjoy our gardens and play witih Blanca and Poosh too as so many guests are rushing about visiting the sacred sites in the valley.
Our family enjoyed our stay. It was really out of the way and relaxing. The hot water was hot and the staff was really nice. My issue was there was no refrigerator so I had to walk the 15-20 mins into town to buy something to cook everyday. They are in the midst of renovating and growing their compound and I think once it is finished it will be great. The walk to town is not far (15-20 min) but at altitude can seem pretty daunting going up the steep hill and at night it can be extremely difficult. Please bring a flashlight as one is not provided but is very needed if walking at night. Overall, I would recommend this someone wanting to unplug and relax.
Thanks for your review Anthony. I heard that your boys loved playing with our puppy. We are currently undergoing rennovations to improve things here. We took up your suggestion of providing flashlights in the houses ... unfortunately one went missing straight away! We advise guests to bring flashlights as it is very dark around here at night which is great for star gazing as we have no light pollution. Glad you enjoyed your stay at Illa Wasi.
Gorgeous compound they've built with a couple houses. We had the private house for a night, and it was beautiful (well-furnished/decorated, etc.). The two managers were very helpful.
The only negative (or positive, depending on your needs) was that it is quite a distance from the center of town. The walk downhill to town was long, so I'd imagine the walk back is not particularly convenient. But it meant that the property was very peaceful and quiet.
Thanks for the review Namir, it was nice having you at Illa Wasi.
In regards to the walk to the town there are some options:
1. Take a moto taxi for 1.50 Soles into town (3 minutes)
2. Walk the 15 min walk downhill and enjoy the view. (Some may find it a demanding walk however its all downhill other than the walk up the hill to the main road from Illa Wasi) Its all relative here and depends if you are used to walking. But the view is beautiful.
We have numbers of moto and auto taxis.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!
