About this listing
Don’t be fooled by the gorgeous views, canopy of trees and hawks flying overhead. You may feel a hundred miles away from the city, but you are only 5 minutes from downtown LA, and just a mile or two from the vibrant and eclectic neighborhoods of Silverlake, Eagle Rock and Highland Park.
This bright and sunny 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom is the main upstairs unit (we occupy the downstairs unit) of a 1920’s Craftsman duplex that is situated on a 10,000 square foot hillside lot. There is a private deck with stunning views right off the kitchen, terraces with avocado trees, citrus trees, and raised vegetable beds. The property is perfect for those who want to enjoy nature while still being in a big city.
House amenities include: barrel vaulted ceiling in the living room, central heat and AC, dishwasher, Samsung steam washer and dryer, hardwood floors and tile throughout, blackout shades in all bedrooms and living room, a 4 burner propane grill, wireless internet, digital phone with free national long distance, HD DirectTV, Apple TV, Netflix, flat screen TV, DVD player, a well-equipped kitchen, ozone filtered drinking water on tap, Keurig coffeemaker with complimentary Kcups. The deck is perfect for alfresco dining. You are welcome to eat any fruits and vegetables from the yard.
The main bedroom has a queen sized bed. The second bedroom has a CB2 flex sofa that converts into a full bed. All bedrooms have high thread count linens, extra linens if your stay is longer than a week, and lots of clean towels.
By car, you are 5-15 minutes from Silverlake, Echo Park, Los Feliz, Hollywood, Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, Downtown, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, and Dodger Stadium. We have one parking spot reserved for guests in our driveway, plus there is always ample street parking.
If you are without a car, the bus stop is a 5-10 min walk, depending on which bus stop you’re headed towards. By bus, it is 15 minutes to downtown and from there you can connect easily to all bus lines and metro rail lines, as well as catch the Flyaway bus to LAX from Union Station. We have all bus routes and public transportation maps here for your convenience.
We provide our guests with a list of places to eat/drink and things to do, organized by neighborhood. And since we live in the downstairs unit, we are always on call if you need any information or just want some recommendations.
Please be advised that the house is on a slope and that young children playing in the yard will need some adult supervision.
Final note: We truly enjoy getting to know our Airbnb guests from all over the world, so at the time of booking, please tell us about yourself and the nature of your visit. And please feel free to ask us any questions as well!

Kim and Mike were fantastic hosts. I really enjoyed staying at their place. The unit was clean and comfortable, a short drive to many Los Angeles adventures, and they were super responsive to all my questions. I'd love to stay there again, and highly recommend it to all.
Best place I've ever stayed in on AirBnB. Awesome location, incredibly comfortable, and totally relaxing.
Mike and Kim are gracious, helpful and nice!
Will be looking to stay here again on my next trip.
Great folks. Great place. We would come back just hang out with Mike and Kim to enjoy their company, their coffee and their wonderful deck.
mike & Kim are the best. The apartment was perfect. Very clean. We had my 17 month old grandson with us and the set up was perfect for him also. I would recommend them to everyone. Next time we are in LA we will definitely stay with them if their place is available. Love the fresh veggies in their garden and use of the washer & dryer and driveway parking. Thanks for a great stay.
Can't beat the price either. Very relaxing. I just can't compliment them enough for everything
This was our first trip to California. The house was very nice, clean and quiet neighborhood. It was much nicer to come home to each night than a hotel room. Kim and Mike were very easy going and helpful with everything. The house had everything we needed for our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for making it a great place to stay!
We recently spent a week at Mike and Kim's hillside house and loved it. The space is great, nicely furnished and super comfortable. Our 2 year old loved the huge back yard. The house is super close to everything cool in LA. Absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting LA. The north-east suburbs are where it's at.
Nice place, nice view, not so far from downtown and Mike and Kim were very nice with us !
