Interaction with Guests
Guests will be welcomed on arrival and made to feel at home. While the apartment is a self contained unit,we live in the main part of the house. I will be available at all times during guests stay.
Our neighbourhood has a significant amount of wildlife to be seen despite its proximity to the city centre. A pair of swans build their nest each year in the nearby river. A resident heron also is to be seen here at all times of the year.
Getting around the city is no problem as we are situated so close to the centre. To see the surrounding countryside there are a number of companies operating daily tours. Information on these is available in the apartment.
Lovely flat in a great location for central Galway. Good communications from the host. Everything just as described in the write-up. I would recommend.
We stayed in Bill's apartment for two nights. Location, location, location. Incredibly short walk right into main part of the city center. Had everything you need: adequate kitchen, washer/dryer, free wifi, good bed, etc. Great communication with Bill as well. I highly recommend.
Wir haben unser wochenende in Galway in the old wool shop sehr genossen.
Great location, clean and super adorable. Upstairs bedroom was very cute. Overall comfortable stay.
The flat is perfect and looks exactly like on the pictures. Very clean and tidy, we directly felt comfortable. The double bed is large and very comfy. The kitchen is fully equipped and with first necessities (olive oil, salt & pepper, tea & coffee) which we really appreciated. Special mention for the italian cafetiere.
The neighborhood is lovely and quiet, 5 minutes walk from the city centre along river and nesting swans.
Highly recommended for a stay in Galway!
My husband and I loved our stay at The Old Wool Shop. It was absolutely perfect. The location was amazing, 3 min walk to downtown but tucked away on a quiet street. Galway was our final stop on a 10 day trip thru Ireland so we were pleased to be able to do some laundry and the bed was very comfortable! Plenty of spots to park our rental car right outside for a nominal fee. William was super easy to coordinate with and met us to go over everything when we arrived. As it says in his bio he regularly plays music at local pubs and we highly recommend going to watch him! We had such a great time and it was the perfect way to celebrate our last night! We definitely recommend staying here if you're ever in Galway!
About the Host, William
Nous parlons francais ici! Wij spreken Nederlands thuis. I live with my partner Denise in our city centre house in Mill street Galway. I was born here in Galway and having lived away for 20 years in London, returned home over 10 years ago. I worked for many years as a social worker with homeless people but am now retired. One of my main interests is traditional Irish music and I play the guitar and mandola. I also like to sing and play in pub sessions several times a week. I am passionate about sport of all kinds and read the sports page before any national news. I like to travel and have been on holidays to many to many foreign countries all over the world. I have an interest in history in particular, local history. I love meeting people from different countries and cultures and for many years hosted foreign language students in our home. I like to make people feel at home.
Denise hails from the midlands of Ireland. She works as an acupuncturist, massage therapist and Chinese Herbalist. She has lived previously in San Francisco, Brussels and Nanjing China. She has travelled extensively often backpacking and hiking as well as studying Chinese medicine. Sa deuxieme langue est le francais. Haar Nederlands is niet slecht nog niet! She likes to make people feel welcome and loves listening to people's stories.
