Interaction with Guests
Guests will be welcomed on arrival and made to feel at home. While the apartment is a self contained unit,we live in the main part of the house. I will be available at all times during guests stay.
Our neighbourhood has a significant amount of wildlife to be seen despite its proximity to the city centre. A pair of swans build their nest each year in the nearby river. A resident heron also is to be seen here at all times of the year.
Getting around the city is no problem as we are situated so close to the centre. To see the surrounding countryside there are a number of companies operating daily tours. Information on these is available in the apartment.
Bill was most helpful throughout our stay. The Old Wool Shop was exactly as described and suited our needs superbly. A quiet location supporting a good nights sleep yet within 5 min. walk of the area of Galway we were spending our time in. A great location.
Amazing place! Clean and close to the busy Galway cite centre. Bill was an absolute great host! I would come back and stay here. Thank you for making our stay amazing!
Beautiful apartment with everything you might want or need while on vacation. Location fantastic -- just a couple of minutes walking from all the main shops/pubs but with enough distance to ensure a restful sleep.
William was a great host -- highly recommended.
The Old Wool Shop was the perfect place to spend a few days in Galway. The location is great as it's just a short walk to the water, restaurants, pubs, and shops. William was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. Before arriving we decided to spend an extra night in Galway and William helped us add that night to our initial booking extremely quickly. The apartment looks just as pictured. It was very clean and comfortable. We had 3 people and there was plenty of room. There's no better place for a stay in Galway than The Old Wool Shop!
It was great. We were there for Saint Patrick's day and the location was perfect. William our host was even kind enough to accommodate a late checkout. Great host, place, and location!
Cozy, well furnished, very relaxing place to stay. Less than five minutes walk to city center and the Latin Quarter, walking distance to the train. We walked up, William welcomed us and showed us the Wool Shop, pointed out a few pubs, and we were set for Galway.
Nous parlons francais ici! Wij spreken Nederlands thuis. I live with my partner Denise in our city centre house in Mill street Galway. I was born here in Galway and having lived away for 20 years in London, returned home over 10 years ago. I worked for many years as a social worker with homeless people but am now retired. One of my main interests is traditional Irish music and I play the guitar and mandola. I also like to sing and play in pub sessions several times a week. I am passionate about sport of all kinds and read the sports page before any national news. I like to travel and have been on holidays to many to many foreign countries all over the world. I have an interest in history in particular, local history. I love meeting people from different countries and cultures and for many years hosted foreign language students in our home. I like to make people feel at home.
Denise hails from the midlands of Ireland. She works as an acupuncturist, massage therapist and Chinese Herbalist. She has lived previously in San Francisco, Brussels and Nanjing China. She has travelled extensively often backpacking and hiking as well as studying Chinese medicine. Sa deuxieme langue est le francais. Haar Nederlands is niet slecht nog niet! She likes to make people feel welcome and loves listening to people's stories.
