Interaction with Guests
Guests will be welcomed on arrival and made to feel at home. While the apartment is a self contained unit,we live in the main part of the house. I will be available at all times during guests stay.
Our neighbourhood has a significant amount of wildlife to be seen despite its proximity to the city centre. A pair of swans build their nest each year in the nearby river. A resident heron also is to be seen here at all times of the year.
Getting around the city is no problem as we are situated so close to the centre. To see the surrounding countryside there are a number of companies operating daily tours. Information on these is available in the apartment.
I had a great stay at The Old Wool Shop! The apartment was very comfortable and the location couldn't be more ideal. Even though it is close to everything in town, the bedroom is very quiet and cozy.
What a great place to stay and see the city. Quiet street and close to everything, cozy little place with everything you need. Michael was very nice and quick to respond and help with things.
Acceuil simple et discret , et tres aimable . Le logement est tres bien placé dans un joli quartier.le logement est juste bien pour 4 personnes, tres propre et confortable.
I stayed in Galway with friends for the weekend.
William was a great host: the facilitated the best collecting of the keys, the apartment was clean and met the expectations we had from the description.
The apartment is great: cosy and very-well positioned - a few minutes away form city center.
Bill was at the door to welcome us as soon as we arrived. Unfortunately, we didn't see him much during our stay, since we were out and about exploring Galway.
The apartment was great! It was cozy and had what we needed for our 5 day stay (dishes, cookware, coffee, french press, spices). The wifi was a little weak (unless you stayed at the front end of the apartment), but we weren't there much anyway, except for sleep and breakfast. (There was free wifi at many of the pubs we visited.)
The location is perfect! It was a very short walk to Salthill and all the great Galway pubs and shops. At the end of the night, the street was actually pretty quiet for being so close to all the action!
I would absolutely love to stay here again!
Bill was an awesome host. He was very helpful in directing us to cool places in the city and easy to communicate before and during our stay. The place was exactly as described and what we were looking for. It was a perfect location for exploring the city with everything in walkable distances. Next time we are in Galway we will definitely stay with Bill. And I would highly encourage future guests to take Bill up on his recommendations for both restaurants and live music locations. What an enjoyable stay and a great pleasure meeting Bill.
A lovely and cozy little place, just a few minutes walk from the city centre. William greeted us and provided parking permits, and we really enjoyed our four day stay. The only downside was the poor wifi, but the location made up for it. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great base for exploring Galway and its beautiful surroundings!
Nous parlons francais ici! Wij spreken Nederlands thuis. I live with my partner Denise in our city centre house in Mill street Galway. I was born here in Galway and having lived away for 20 years in London, returned home over 10 years ago. I worked for many years as a social worker with homeless people but am now retired. One of my main interests is traditional Irish music and I play the guitar and mandola. I also like to sing and play in pub sessions several times a week. I am passionate about sport of all kinds and read the sports page before any national news. I like to travel and have been on holidays to many to many foreign countries all over the world. I have an interest in history in particular, local history. I love meeting people from different countries and cultures and for many years hosted foreign language students in our home. I like to make people feel at home.
Denise hails from the midlands of Ireland. She works as an acupuncturist, massage therapist and Chinese Herbalist. She has lived previously in San Francisco, Brussels and Nanjing China. She has travelled extensively often backpacking and hiking as well as studying Chinese medicine. Sa deuxieme langue est le francais. Haar Nederlands is niet slecht nog niet! She likes to make people feel welcome and loves listening to people's stories.
