Apartment in the heart of Lapa, the nightlife of the city, with a breathtaking view! Near to everything you need and an exclusive guide that I made to help my guests.
My home is a stylized apartment on the 11th floor of a safe building with a doorman 24h a day and a great view. It is not a hotel room, but my apartment (where I live when I'm not traveling). So I expect from my guests, above all, RESPECT.
The building is located on the corner of Riachuelo St. and Lavradio St. This is the best part of Lapa, right next to the world famous "Rio Scenarium", "Lapa 40º" and many other great bars and places to dance and hear live brazilian music. There are many free street festivals, events, sights in the immediate area including the "Arcos da Lapa" (Lapa Arches) and "Escaria Selaron".
Public transportation is right outside the door and runs 24h a day.
You'll be sleeping on a sofa-bed in the livingroom. Although is not as big as a queen size bed, It is very confortable.
The apartment has just one bathroom, which is used by everyone in the house (it can be one or two more guests staying in the bedroom. Not more than that).
Wireless internet, washing machine and kitchen with all amenities are available for your convenience. There is a balcony for you to relax and admire the Guanabara Bay, Lapa Arches, and the city Cathedral.
Piano and acoustic guitar available.
My work is based on trust. I trust you 100% and I expect the same. There are no lockers in the apartment.
I do this for three years, hosting people from all over the world every day.
If you are not confident enough to stay in my place, I'd suggest you to check the other guests' reviews, right below this description.

...and keep in mind:
Lapa is the heart of Rio - the most active area in the city. You're gonna have things to do even on a rainy day. And as for going to the beach, it is easy to just take a bus or a taxi.
Aline was an amazing host. :)
I stayed in Aline's apartment for 3 days and let me tell you, that wasn't enough. Her place, first of all, is beautiful. It has a wonderful view from her balcony and is located in the center of LAPA. I stayed in her sofa bed and it was very big and comfortable. I unfortunately haven't met Aline, but did meet her aunt and she is awesome and makes sure that you first know how to utilize certain things in the apartment. Also, Aline has beautiful art and guidebooks throughout her apt that make it easy to find something to so while your stay. If you are passing by Rio, definitely stay in Aline's apartment and experience all that LAPA has to offer!
Aline's apartment is a very charming and a fantastic place to explore Lapa and Santa Teresa. Sharing the space with Aline and other guests was a fantastic experience also. Aline is a very special person, open and full of positive energy. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to experience the true beauty, happiness and kindness of Rio.
Aline is a bright, energetic young lady but she is also an "old soul" (which is a wondrous thing!). She has traveled extensively herself and feels compelled to encourage kindness and compassion in the world and connection among all peoples.
She is a truly gracious host who made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in.
Aline is an inspired artist and her apartment is a work of art itself - filled with colourful, unique creations! Although it is not a large space, it is bright, clean, and airy.
I slept on a pull-out soda bed that was approximately the size of a "full" mattress. It was not as thick as a real mattress but I found it quite comfortable.
There is a washer for doing laundry but no dryer. You just hang your clothes to dry.
The apartment has no A/C but does have fans. I am a bit cool-natured and felt very comfortable even though it was the middle of summer.
Lapa is a cultural center of Rio, especially for music. You can often hear different types of music wafting in from the balcony, sometimes until late into the night. I am used to sleeping in a quiet environment but surprisingly, these sounds did not disturb me at all. They somehow made me feel more connected to the city.
Speaking of the balcony, the apartment is on the eleventh floor and the views are spectacular!
I am a vegetarian, which is not an easy thing in Brazil! Aline told me about a great vegetarian restaurant called Vegecoop, several blocks away (but within walking distance). I ate there a couple of times and enjoyed it immensely.
If you are used to prices in the States, be aware that restaurants and even grocery stores are generally higher in Rio. My lunch at Vegecoop was about $14 (U.S.) with only drinking water and no dessert. That's not outrageous - just more than what a similar meal in the U.S. might cost.
There are many other restaurants and bars close to the apartment.
Aline communicates very well in English, Portuguese, and Spanish but be aware that the typical man or woman on the street, as well as shopkeepers, speak little if any English - including the doorman at the apartment building!
I could not have asked for a better introduction to this wonderful city and country. If you have a chance to meet Aline, I highly recommend it!
I had a very good stay at Aline's place. Many restaurants are within a few minutes walking distance. A binder with comments and maps, which she has prepared in the apartment, gives you the necessary information to find things you need in the neighbourhood. Definitely recommended!
I definitely recommend! Aline's place in Lapa formed a great base for exploring Rio, especially if you're looking to get to know the city beyond the beach. She was a a very accommodating host and gave great advice. Also her neighborhood guide is really useful.
Aline is one of the most interesting people I have met, she really made me feel at home in her place, and it was a fantastic place to stay in terms of location and the apartment was always spotless (clean).
It was one of my amazing experience ever.
I came to a beautiful apartment in Lapa. One of the most trendiest places and Colorful of Rio.
The hosting of Aline, was comfortable and warm. She is a beautiful person, with a beautiful sol.
I had an amazing week, with beautiful experience to taste the culture of Rio.
I truly recommend!!!
I guess my case would different from most people,as I was visiting Rio after 15 years but I have lived there as a child.I wasn't exactly a tourist from abroad nor a Brazilian (website hidden) be honest I wasn't sure what I was looking for,but probably as Aline writes, "full social experience" and that I certainly enjoyed during the stay.
She manages to mix homely environment with respect on how to spend my time. She gave me lots of help that I needed, including general direction, how to take a bus,how to buy a mobile phone(or not to) etc.And when I wasn't really keen to go out and stayed inside that was OK,too.
The sofa-bed was comfortable. The friends and other guest she had were unique and funny, relaxed and I enjoyed spending time with them.I think It's due to her personality that she attracts people with niceness and value on their own.Think as you are doing loose"home stay"experience, but you can have your time on your own when you feel like it.
Aline's place is great! The decoration, the atmosphere, the location! Everything is exactly how show the pictures and all good reviews about her and her place!! To stay there and met her was an amazing experience that I will repeat soon!! Really, really soon!! Thankyou for all Aline!!
