Chuckanut Bay View House - The Crow's Nest - is overlooking Chuckanut Bay. This is one of the Pacific Northwest's premier properties with 180 degrees of beautiful San Juan Islands views. Walk out the door to explore the Chuckanut Bay area, Larrabe State Park, hike or bike hundreds of miles of trails on Chuckanut Mountain, or drive 10 minutes / bike 20 minutes on the INterurban trail into Historic Fairhaven or Bellingham to explore local artisan shops, restaurants and brewpubs.

The space
The house was designed and built by the owners between 2008-2012. This house has beautiful modern interior geometric lines with a rustic Northwest beach house exterior.
There are 3 floors of beautifully designed and decorated home. On the first floor is the Master Bedroom with in-room bathroom and a second Bedroom with full bathroom adjacent in the hallway. Between the 2 bedrooms is a quaint, sunny sitting/reading room and your own large private lower deck. The main floor has the kitchen, dining room and living room with a gas stove, a huge deck with Adirondack Chairs, Sun Umbrellas, Gas BBQ and 180 degree views throughout. The third floor is the Master Bedroom Suite with a stunning “Crow’s Nest” view of Chuckanut Bay and the San Juan Islands!
The kitchen has a large island with second food prep sink, all brand new appliances and is well stocked with everything you’d expect at home plus food processor, blender, juicer, electric drip and french press coffee makers.
Bathrooms are equipped with towels, liquid hand soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Where you’ll be

Bellingham, Washington, United States

There are train tracks 75 feet directly below the house with freight and passenger train traffic. Between 6AM and 9PM daily there are approximately 6-7 trains. Between 9PM and 6AM there are approximately 3 trains. All trains make noise and there can be some shaking of the house when trains go by. Each train takes approximately 3 minutes to pass by the property. The Chuckanut Neighborhood Association negotiated with Burlington Northern about 5 years ago and paid $75,000 for a railroad crossing upgrade at Yacht Club Road about 1/8th of a mile to the South of the property. Burlington Northern no longer blows its horn with either North or Southbound trains. We provide our guests with ear plugs that are available in the bedrooms in the event you are a light sleeper. In 3 years we have had 3 guests express concern about train noise. The other hundreds of guests we’ve hosted have not had any issue with the trains. Trains are just part of the reality of all luxury homes and hotels along Chuckanut and Bellingham Bays.

I'm a life long resident of Bellingham and have 5 generations of family here in Western Washington. I love where I live and work as a photographer and in video surveillance. I enjoy skiing, mountain biking, trail running, back packing, kayaking, our wonderful local food, drink, and entertainment and just relaxing in the sun on the beach or in the mountains.
I love spending time with family and friends, travel and life long education. In February and March I traveled with my girlfriend to Guatemala and Belize where we stayed with both friends and at AirBnB's. I love the rich AirBnB experience of staying with local people and how comfortable it is to stay in people's homes and at unique properties.
I want my guests to enjoy staying at my properties as much as I enjoy staying at other AirBnB properties.
