About this listing
Welcome and thank you for considering our vacation property. The Zephyr Mountain Lodge opened in 2000 and unlike any other property found in Winter Park it is truly ski-in/ski-out and is only 110 feet from the Zephyr lift. The condo is a first floor unit with a balcony that overlooks the Frasier Creek and faces the continental divide. It also is one of the only condos with 10 foot ceilings in the building which makes it feel a little bigger than it is. Like a hotel it is furnished with linens and bathroom supplies but like a condo it does not offer maid service.
The locals know why Winter Park is Colorado's favorite. Without a doubt once you visit Winter Park/Mary Jane you will not ski or ride anywhere else. With 12" more snow than Vail and 89" more snow that Keystone on average why fight I-70 traffic? I have personally been stuck on I-70 Sunday afternoon for 5 hours .. never again. More snow means more powder days and also means better conditions overall. The terrain is naturally divided making the Winter Park area a great place to learn to ski/ride and progress into a solid skier or rider. In addition to great family skiing on the Winter Park side, the Mary Jane side challenges even the most advanced skiers and riders.
Voted #1 bumps in North America for as long as I can remember, the Mary Jane side also offers great powder stashed tree runs, cliffs and steeps that will get your adrenaline pumping. Just ask a local riding up the Super Gauge Express, Challenger, or Iron Horse lifts for a few of his/her favorite lines. Without a doubt the Jane has its cult followers ... me being one of them.
Winter Park Resort is more than skiing and snowboarding. During summer, fall, and spring, it is a recreation wonderland with over 2500 acres of on-mountain trails. There's a reason Winter Park is called Mountain Bike Capital USA - in fact, there are 600 of them. With an astounding 600 miles of trails, many of them lift-accessible, there's simply no end to the fun you can get yourself into and to the gorgeous Rocky Mountain vistas you'll see along the way! There are lakes and streams that are ideal for boating, kayaking, and fly fishing. The Pole Creek Golf Course is a picturesque, eighteen-hole Championship Course and just fifteen miles away.
Did I mention it is only 110 feet from the lift? Which means while everyone else is on a bus to their condo in Winter Park or Frasier you will be enjoying a soak in the hot tub.
Please ask me about how to get discount lift tickets!!
Thank you so much Scott! Upon arrival, everything was in place as it should be. We arrived late so the lockbox worked out great. The condo is super cozy and had everything we could possibly need. The beautiful aspen trees and creek nearby were a constant source of entertainment from the balcony where we tended to gravitate since the weather was incredibly warm. How to describe Winter Park... Highlights: Wildflowers. Mountains. Trees. Sky. Wildlife. Such a feast for the eyes and soul! The Village is awesome! RMNP, Arapahoe, Roosevelt: So much to explore! Jawdropping vistas at every turn. I do hope to return to your incredible mountain again in the future!
I was supposed to stay at Scott's lodge with a few friends the last weekend in April. However, I got stuck in Kansas while driving to the mountain because of tornadoes and very severe tstorms. We asked Scott whether we could receive a partial refund, as college students. However, Scott was unwilling to even give us one of the two nights back. I understand there is a very strict cancellation policy, but I thought these were extenuating circumstances and now we had to pay for hail damage on top of our hotel, which we did not use.
My friend and I had excellent experience at zephyr lodge. Scott was readily available if questions presented. Condo was cozy and clean. Queen bed is comfy. Location extremely convenient located 2 minute walk from ski lift. Enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace post ski
Scott's condo was great! Very cozy and clean. The listing was spot on and accurately reflected the condo and surrounding amenities. Easy check-in with the lock box.
Great place! Hope to visit again in the winter so I can take advantage of the ski-in/ski-out location.
We stayed the last weekend in January and were pleasantly surprised all around. The condo unit was very clean, comfy, and well appointed which made for an excellent ski weekend away - our only complaint was that we couldn't have stayed longer! Getting in was a breeze - literally park in the heated underground garage ($14/nt), take the elevator up, and walk right in the door. After a long day of skiing, it was so awesome to just click out of our skis, walk right in the door and sit by the fireplace, then head down to the jacuzzi and chill out. While in WP, we headed to our favorite breakfast place in town (Mountain Rose Cafe) and it was PHENOMINAL as usual - highly recommended. We also checked out Deno's for dinner and really enjoyed as well - it was a very casual and cozy atmosphere with great service, food, and wine (if you're looking for more upscale cuisine but don't feel like getting ready after a long day on the slopes!). Scott was extremely communicative and helpful throughout the entire process - from initial booking to questions to check in instructions to checkout. All in all, as well traveled folks who have been all around the world, we would highly recommend and would stay again ourselves without question.
We had a great time! Really nice that his condo is on the first floor. Had a couple of glitches with the keys when we got there, but Scott fixed the issues in a hurry. Our only complaint is the mattress on the main bed is way too soft for my wife and I (hint: we pulled the memory foam mattress out of the sleeper sofa and slept on the floor, which worked well), but I'm not docking a rating star, because the place is too awesome!! Scott provided a lot of info that was really helpful. Hope to rent this one again!
We had such a great time at the Zephyr. The condo was cozy and it was such a treat to walk right outside to the slopes!
About the Host, Scott
We are a family of four with two children who love to ski, hike, bike, fish and generally escape to the mountains whenever we can. When we don't we enjoy making others trips even more enjoyable with great tips and service while staying in our condo.
