The Space

Offering private bed with breakfast (assuming you like cereal, fruit, yogurt and juice) in my centrally located apartment in SF. I'm on the edge of the Haight-Ashbury and Castro districts, half a block from the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park. It's a sunny, quiet place with good access to public transportation and great restaurants nearby. The bed is in a private area in my apartment, off the living room (see photo). I've got a cat so cannot accept anyone who is allergic. Rainbow-friendly. No last-minute reservations, please. Non-smokers only.

  • I had a great stay at Alison's place. The location is great and the neighborhood safe. I walked everywhere, but there are many buses and the F-line train nearby. The bed is very, very comfortable. Alison is very kind, welcoming and helps with everything and provides so much information so that your trip is very enjoyable.

  • This place was great! Walkable distance from Castro. Restaurants and groceries available within a block and most importantly had a really great and generous host. You can't go there if you hate cats. But then again if you hate animals we probably won't get along so don't use my review!

The space was small but enough for it's purpose. A quick sleep, shower, breakfast and off you go to the city! Great for single people who are just looking to explore (might be a little too small for couples). Alison is very welcoming and will be there if needed but will also give you your space. Great conversations and inetersting options for plans in the city will probably happen! Enjoy!!!

  • Staying with Alison was wonderful. The price was great, bed comfy, location perfect and Alison is warm and welcoming, flexible and had all the information I needed to walk or catch buses to where I was going. And how generous of her to provide a cereal and fruit breakfast! I will definitely ask to stay with her again when I'm in the area and would absolutely recommend this to any traveler.

Thanks for those kind words, Ellen. I hope that Wisconsin's weather is treating you much nicer than ours did. Take care.

  • I had a great time staying with Alison. It was my first time using the airbnb service and I didn't really know what to expect. Alison was very accommodating, especially with my arrival time. She also gave me great suggestions for getting to and from the airport, interesting walk routes and restaurant recommendations. The room was cozy, the kitchen was open to me for breakfast and I felt comfortable coming and going on my own schedule.

  • I had a wonderful stay with Alison. Her apartment is very easy to find, very safe and secure, and very clean. It's close to one of the bus lines, to the Panhandle portion of Golden Gate Park, to some good restaurants, and to Haight Street. She was a delight to visit with and gave me some good tips about the area. She also had a good selection of breakfast items to get me ready for a good day of adventuring. I highly recommend staying with her.

  • My time at Alison's was simply great. The bedroom was more than enough and the bed itself was especially comfy! Alison always helped me with my day to day plans providing invaluable insight to the area. When our paths crossed at home, she always asked how my day was which led to some great chats. The breakfasts were also wonderful. I felt right at home. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this listing to anyone!

  • Alison is a great combo of friendly but knows you are a person doing your thing. She was helpful, even offering an umbrella and suggesting a shuttle service to the airport & then even going so far as to help me set it up online since I only had my little iphone. Very thoughtful and nice lady and her cat Gracie is funny.

  • Alison was an amazing host. Centrally located, within walking distance to nice nightlife and shops and public transportation. The bed was comfortable and in a very nice and quiet enclosed area. Alison was very friendly, even giving me a newspaper featuring an event I attended. Will definitely stay at again if in SF alone again!
