Bed & Breakfast - Private room · Josephsplatz, Munich, Bavaria 80798, Germany

The Space

Cosy family-like home for 100% non- smokers, situated in maybe the fanciest part of Munich, the museum district. Home of a sculptor - with all advantages and disadvantages - but no noise from 6 pm till 12 am.

Many art objects, but you should not be allergic to things lying about all of the time?

Close to art galleries, fancy swimming pool plus sauna, theatres, cinemas, cute restaurants of all sorts, shops, supermarkets, department store, parks, everything you might need within walking distance.

U2 and U3, busses 144 and 53 plus trams 12 and 27 will take you quickly anywhere. All over Munich, you will need no car, on the contrary: a car may bother you a lot in this fancy Munich district called Schwabing, as there is almost no parking.

Little dog will be pleased to make friends with you. Sometimes, we have guest dogs!

A room of approximately 15 square meters with the traditional, worn-out parquet floor and 'stucco' is awaiting you. The building is older than one century. A 1.45 m wide, comfortable Ligne Roset bed with monochrome linen in satin or cotton (color / material can be selected, please feel free to do so beforehand) is looking forward to meeting you, an old real-wood cabinet, a flatscreen TV and a regular radio with CD player are at your disposal, as well as a mahagony wooden work desk with ergonomic desk chair.

Kitchen, bathroom, separate toilet and relatively freshly renovated bathroom (with bath and shower-bath in one and with a wonderful washing machine) will be shared. You'll have towels at your disposal, of course, so you'll only have to bring your suitcase. When will you be coming? Uliananina, an old and wise psychologist is looking forward to meeting you. See you soon? Ulli

  • Our stay with Ulli was excellent! She is a lovely person and great host. She met us at the train station and took us to the apartment. Ulli was nice enough to let us stay in an apartment instead of with her. Unfortunately this did not suit us for our stay in Munich and once we told Ulli she went out of her way to ensure that we were comfortable. She provided us with travel passes and so much food!
The apartment was more than adequate and public transport was easy to access and use from the apartment.
    We would stay again!

  • As others have said, staying with Uli is like staying with a relative -- perhaps an Aunt you haven't seen in a while, who wants to be sure that you are well-fed, safe, and spending your limited time in Munich wisely. In addition to meeting us at the train station, feeding us, and dispensing life-advice, she also took us, her doggies, and another couple staying at another of her listings for a wonderful walk around the English gardens. Did I mention she also agreed to host us over Christmas?! No wonder we felt like part of the extended family. I've yet to meet a more hospitable host.

Uli's apartment is small, and as she says in her listing, a little chaotic, but the room is clean and comfortable, the neighborhood interesting, and transportation/walking to downtown easy.

Would recommend staying here to anyone who wants to get to know their host over a homemade meal, and can handle a bit of controlled clutter.

  • We had such a lovely time with Ulrike! What a great hostess, she really went above and beyond, giving us great tips and even providing travel passes, warm bed socks and a lovely breakfast each morning. Her dogs are very cute, quiet companions and she was a very interesting person to talk to and learn about. We had a "gnarley" time! :)

  • Ulrike is a wonderful host! She is caring, generous, considerate and very kind, and during my visit to Munchen I felt like I stayed with a relative, not a stranger.
The flat is situated in the center of the city (it'll get you 15 minutes to get to Marienplatz), the room is cosy, neat and comfortable, equally suit to work and to have a rest in the evening.
In addition you'll have a great pleasure of Ulrike's company.

Looking forward to meeting you! I've always found that people who travel are far more relaxed and unconventional than others, more flexible, more open-minded and understanding. As, definitely, travellers are more curious, too, it is always exciting to talk to them: they have experienced so many things. (All these prejudices are being confirmed each & every day!) I simply love hosting airbnb guests. There is almost nothing in this world I would change for. And, of course, I love to tell you about all the very beautiful things in Munich, today, that you should not miss, mostly the non-commercial ones! Plus the things which (in my view) should no way be missed, as well culturally as culinarily? Some of this information about semi-private locations could not be found in any official guides. And I will tell you my thoughts about the very, very dark times in the Munich history, too, if you should wish so? A few guests came several times, already, even friendship arose. Isn't that wonderful? Thank you, airbnb! GREAT THAT YOU EXIST! I was a psychologist before retiring and have always been an artist, too. I spent some time in London, Paris, Barcelona, Mallorca and Berne, so I speak more languages than just one. There is one thing I learnt from the Germans, and now, I even LOVE it: They will never be "polite", but tell you straight forward what they like and what they don't like. After living for so long in Germany, I can only say: I truly love this, meanwhile. It makes things so easy! There is a proverb, saying: In Rome, do as the Romans do. PLEASE BE "GERMANS" WHILE HERE! Don't rely on me being clairvoyant, but tell me what you don't like and want it changed. Most things can be changed easily. Please do tell me, too, IMMMEDIATELY, if sth in my description is not right or outdated or if I forgot to mention sth. I will do my very best to improve, but for this, I need to KNOW! THANK YOU!!!
