Interaction with Guests
This is my home, and I work a four-day week job, Monday to Thursday. I always try to be available to meet my guests on arrival, and if I am not available, I will make sure you are properly welcomed by a very nice person! You will have plenty of privacy at my home, but be able to avail of a friendly helping hand to offer advice on any aspect of your visit. I know Dublin City like the back of my hand! I am able to be especially helpful to any guests interested in Art, and who would like to visit galleries in Dublin, and have a fair sense of the music scene too.
You will have all that Dublin has to offer nearby when you stay with me, with excellent public transport, or the choice to take a 20-minute walk into the city for those who are so inclined. This means you have access to the hundreds of restaurants, cafes, galleries, theatres, music venues and shops Dublin city provides.
In the other direction from the City Centre is a large park with a playground. Further along is Dublin Bay with safe walking and cycle paths leading to the beach. You can take a bus to the beach if you prefer, and it is about 15 minutes away. There are more beaches further along this coastline, and some beautiful harbour villages and stunning cliff walks – all within a short distance from my home.
The North Strand area itself is an old settled neighbourhood of narrow streets with quaint terraced cottages. It is a very quiet and unpretentious part of Dublin city, and Strandville Avenue consists mainly of owner-occupiers, many of whom have lived on the street for decades.
The house is close to all public transport systems, including the AirLink bus. Nearby are trains, trams and buses for travel within the city, or to any other parts of Ireland. There is free on-street parking.
Other Things to Note
On confirmation all guest receive a 1000 word document with lots of hints and tips, including the best way to get to the house from the airport. For those who are friends of Bill & Bob, I will provide all the information they need in the Dublin area and beyond.
- No loud noise, including long late night showers as that is noisy
- I do not charge a utility fee, so please remember that hot water is expensive in Ireland
- No pets
- No smoking
Often I will be working the next day, so guests are asked to be considerate and not make noise after 11pm that might keep me awake.
¡¡¡Muchas gracias Paula!!!
Staying at Paula's place was a great airbnb experience ! She was very nice and welcoming, flexible about our schedule, made us feel at ease and gave us little present for Saint Patrick's day. The room was perfect, confortable and clean, and the house is well located (15mn walking or 5mn by bus to the center of the city).
Thanks a lot Paula !
I could not imagine a better Airbnb experience. Paula is great host and she definately knows what is needed! The welcome message we got with all the hints related to public transportation and connection to the airport was priceless. Place is lovely, clean and Paula is very helpfull and open person. I totally recommend! The place is just 10-15 minutes by walk to the center and the private bathroom we had was a cherry on a cupcake :)
perfect upstream preparation and good connections to the city (also in walking distance)! Thanks
My friend Grace and I spent two nights with Paula on a weekend trip to Dublin, and the experience was all that we could have asked for and more! She was a wonderful hostess, providing us with information on how to travel around Dublin, which restaurants were worth our while, and great locations to see during our short stay. Paula made us feel very welcome, and though we didn't see much of her, she was a great help when we needed it! The room was just as described, and perfect for a weekend [or longer] stay for two people. Thanks so much Paula! If we ever come back to Dublin, we would both easily choose to stay with you again.
Thank you Hunter! I am so happy you enjoyed your stay and only wish you could have stayed longer. So if you do come again, I'd love to have you both stay with me. Am also glad to hear you got to see a lot of Dublin. I know when people only have a couple of days, it really is good to have some suggestions made. Please wish Grace my best as well, and hope to see you both again some day!
Once again a big thank you from Cas and I. We had such a wonderful time during a stay.
For those reading out there...first and foremost, Paula is an excellent host. We unfortunately arrived late on Thursday due to some taxi trouble and schedule of the ferry but Paul was nothing but accommodating. I am not endorsing late arrival but we were grateful for Paula's flexibility. Her house is absolutely beautiful with a nice artistic touch. We were free to use her kettle for tea/coffee and did make sure of it. Transportation is very simple and we were able to get in and out of city center without any trouble. The bedroom itself is plenty roomy for 2 individuals. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable and had some sort of a heated blanket that we loved. Paula provided us with maps, including bus routes, and a spare computer if we needed to use the internet. The bathroom is just across the hall so perfectly situated for guests. I worked remotely on Friday so for any of those who need to work, this Paul's place is viable for that (desk in the room). For the location, price, comfort, and kindness of the owner, you just can't beat it. Highly recommend to anyone who is planning a visit to Dublin.
Barrio tranquilo y cercano al centro, muy rápido en transporte público.
I'm mother to a 25-year-old who has flown the nest, and I work full-time as Art Director of a small publishing group. Going to work for me is easy because I love it.
My hobby is photography. I love is to go to art and photography exhibitions here and abroad. For guests interested in art, I am happy to make suggestions for exhibitions and galleries they might enjoy – depending on their individual tastes.
When my son left home and his room was available, I played host to many friends when they came to Dublin. I found I enjoyed having people coming and going through my home. This is why I decided to join Airbnb as a host. Because I have travelled a lot myself, I have an instinct for what makes a person more comfortable when they are away from their own home. I enjoy making sure people are relaxed, and being able to answer any questions they might have.
I have stayed as an Airbnb guest in Venice, Italy and in Wexford in Ireland, and enjoyed both experiences. What I liked most was each host gave us great tips about local events, and the best places to go. I think this is what makes Airbnb better than a hotel.
I am a coffee person, so you can be sure of a good strong coffee at my home, or a perfect cup of tea. I am happy for guests to use my kitchen to prepare breakfast, and for tea and coffee.
I love Dublin very much, and love living here. I hope when people stay with me, they leave with a bit of that love in their hearts. As a host I am relaxed, and hope I am warm and welcoming. I understand people need their privacy, so will always make sure not to intrude, but yet be available.
