The Space

My house is located in a very quiet, residential area in the heart of Genova just 10 minutes away from the beach and Palma city.
There are 2 bus stop nearby who bring you every 20 min. to the beaches or to Palma. Only in the night you would have to take a taxi which cost about 10 € from the city centre.
The airport is 15 min. away.

My house is more than 200 years old but of course I renovated it to have all the accommodations one needs in our days, like central heating, town hall gas, bathrooms, Wireless (for free).
The decoration of my house presents my character! Which means that I love light, collecting nice things, plants (but in the garden, I don´t like them so much in my house, forget always to water them-:). When you look to the pictures you will maybe see that all is done with a warm heard. I am an optimist who LOVES life and wants to be happy as well as to give pleasure to my friends, hosts and all people whom are open to me.
I share my house with my cat ROMEO, who is a very "soft" boss-:) and with my second "guard"-:) Jojo, a rescue dog who came recently in my house and Romeo gave up at the end-:). Romeo loves everybody and wants mostly to sleep in the garden or watching outside the street life. Jojo will come with me when the house is rented.

My daughters (both artists) live here on the island as well (one has a little 4 year old daughter, who is great of course-:) )and my guests become friends with them often. We are a very open minded family and therefore you will get any help you need.
But when you rent the place I will not be with you. I have a first floor which I don´t rent, its just locked but one of the terraces (photo) you can use too. Often I go on travel or stay in one of my daughter´s houses. When I am away you can always contact my children. So you will not feel lost and they can give you nice tips for your stay here too.

Let me say something about my house:

There is an open salon/dining area (about ca. 35 qm together),
an open kitchen, 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms on suite.
1 Patio of ca.15 qm belonging to the house and a smaller one
in the garden (photos!)
The bedrooms have 2 beds with double beds one of 140 x 200 cm and one of 160 x 200 cm.
Needless to say that you will find your bed nicely dressed and the bathrooms clean and with the towels you need. If you stay 2 weeks the bed-sheets and blankets get changed after a week and of course new towels as well.
On top there is a washing machine in the kitchen which you can use. Each bathroom has a hair dryer, window and bathtub and of course central warm water.

The kitchen it fully equipped with everything you need. There is a toaster, juicer, mixer , fridge, dish washer, washing machine etc. All the herbal ingredients you need for a good meal you will find there such as salt, pepper etc. You don´t need to buy this for one week-:)

In the living/dining area you find: WiFi-wireless (of course for free), there is a TV/radio who works on ASTRA, DVD , BOSE Radio/CD Player, fireplace.

Parking along the same home's street is free from payment. You will always find a place to park. Maybe sometime a bit further down or further up of the house. Genova is a safe, quiet town and so is this street.

Some words to the village:

Genova is an old, typical mallorquin village which was once basically populated works - and fishermen. Entering in my street you find all this old simple little houses which make this street so unique. It is now popular for still its rural life style. There are no hotels, no tourism. Unique, as it seems you are not far from the city but protected by its surrounding mountains called 'Sierra de Na Burguesa' (on top of Na Burguesa is a statue of a Virgin Maria and at her feeds is a very good restaurant which gives you a tremendous view over the sea.) . In the little village you will find the entrance to some caves. Its nice to visit them because its not touristic at all.
Another attraction of Genova, not known very much, are the caves. Are small caves but less touristic!
Today Genova has some very nice new houses which don´t destroy the character of this wonderful place (except some architectural sin on the main street). Genova is known -special for the Spanish people- for their authentic mallorquin restaurants like "Can Pedro", "Jacinto", "La Rueda" etc. - if you ask I will tell you more about, because there are much more restaurants, but none in my street!

There is not that much, we are a village! But there is a nice bakery who sells not only typical mallorquin bread; you get as well -mostly local!- fruits and vegetable. Its a mixture of a little super market and bakery. The lady who owns the shop is a character and I love to go there. Too there is a kind of a little drugstore which sells international newspapers, beside is a nice little bar, another little supermarket which has all you need and it opens every day all the day long and a little "boutique" (more mom and pop shop-:) ), we have two banks with international credit card machines.
I enjoy very much that everything has retained its village character.

Last but not least:
It will be my pleasure to help you make your stay here and at the island as best and as comfortable as possible... I know that the days you are coming here are your holidays and I want you to go home relaxed with the feeling that you want to come back soon!

Attention: I rent it only for minimum 2 weeks!

The Neighborhood

a have a very nice neighborhood. most are Spanish, some English and the street is a very authentic old village street . There are no app.buildings, no hotels, a little supermarket (open all the year around every day). I know all my neighbors and I appreciate that they would be there for helping out without going on each others nerves. Its amazing to have the quiet feeling of a village and in about 5 minutes drive you are in the center of the vibrating city Palma.

Getting around

Around the corner there is a bus stop. the bus comes every 20 min. and goes down to Palma. I love to take the bus. Its more convenient than the car and looking for parking. Coming from the airport (a direct bus to Plaza Espana) you take at the Plaza the Bus 46 Direction Genova/S. Dureta. It takes you all together around 45 Min.
If you want to rent a car the prices are better to book through the internet. But too I know a rent a car company who charges less than the others but the cars are not always brand new. You get the car at the airport and after your holiday you leave it there. I you want to book with them just let me know.

  • There are only positive emotions about our stay in this idyllic place! Never before we felt so much at home during any of our trips, like this time in Mallorca. And mostly because of the loving and caring nature of our host and really amazing place we've stayed at. The house is so cosy and stylish, that you wouldn't want to leave! And the location couldn't be better, the area where the house is located is very quiet, but it is really close to the center of Palma and all the tourist attractions!
Tamara as a host is very warm and open person, we are really happy to have met her and her daughter Natalia during our stay. Their artistic nature and sense of style, that is present at every corner and in every detail of this magnificent place, can only be adored :)!

  • Tamara is a wonderful host! The kind of person you wish you could be friend with. We spent an afternoon with her and her daughter, and it was as if we had known each other for ever. Tamara is an interior designer and she just created the DREAM house. Everything is decorated with taste, every piece of furniture, every object has a story....don't look further...this is the best comfortable place to stay in Palma!
