Interaction with Guests
Greet you with a warm hello, let you know the in's and out's of the home then set you free.
If you are looking for more personalized attention and would like advice where to go what to do, we will provide that too.
Set back behind one of Utah's most iconic buildings, the Utah state capitol. You are at the center of everything you need. 1/2 block walk to the east and down the hill you will find memory grove. A portion of the park is an off collar dog park, the other half is full of historical sites and memorials.
If you are visiting on the weekend and would like to attend any particular church services, please let us know to which ones so we can locate them and the appropriate time for attending.
One of my favorite pass times is to take a walk on the immaculately manicured paths around the capitol or relaxing inside.

FREE public transit!
From our home to anywhere down town your travel is free see picture for free fare zone. Limited Saturday and Sunday Service also available.
Across the street on the top of the hill is a bus stop that can take you anywhere you want to go. Immediately down the hill is our light rail system known as TRAX that takes you to and from the airport, as far east as sugar house, as far south as Draper and Harriman, and as far west as west valley. Seriously easy to get relatively anywhere you need. If you plan your route ahead of time you can even take public transportation to many of our skii resorts.
However... you may not need any of it as all of downtown Salt Lake is within walking distance.
Other Things to Note
You're doin' fine! You have made it this far, you are ready to book!
Be respectful to all around you, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Please only Eat and drink in the kitchen, clean up any spills quickly, and take off shoes upon entering.
As there are other Airbnb units at this property we ask all to be mindful of parking so others can exit the drive way and that noise levels be kept lower during the late nights and early mornings.
Please clean up messes and if you must ruin towels please use a towel that has already been ruined :) Makeup, nail polish... etc should be removed using one of the colored towels and not the nice white ones. (yeah I know.. you know.. but you'd be surprised at the number of towels ruined, thank you for still reading you're great!)
From Nov 01, 2015 - Apr 30, 2016 the minimum stay is 3 nights.
Skyler responded quickly to all inquiries. He has a location which is across the street from the Capitol and not far from the Mormon Tabernacle Temple. He also generously provided a bottle of wine upon our arrival. This was a convenient rest-over for us as we journeyed from Yellowstone to Lake Tahoe.
Skyler own the best place of visiting salt lake city, he is kind and thoughtful.
Great location, and Skyler was great. The place was well-suited for our needs, to re-organize and dig out after 1.5 weeks of camping. Plenty of space in back, and Skyler was even able to accommodate our weird request for a hose. There is lots of space, and it's quite bright even on the bottom (website hidden) was just 2 swamp coolers, but effective, and much appreciated.
However, the place was not as clean as other reviews said-- I'm not trying to be nitpicky, but here are examples: bathroom and kitchen sinks w/ others' residue (crumbs, toothpaste smears, hair), cooking splashes on stove. It didn't appear to us that the place had been professionally cleaned recently.
Also, it wasn't as quiet as others stated: another unit in the same building has a yappy dog-- late at night, and early in the morning.
Keep in mind the laundry is shared. The other person seemed to do their laundry late at night, so we had to stay up late in order to get ours done, at the risk of disturbing them.
Also, you can't cook much besides boil water. It's fine if you are going to eat out anyway, but there isn't even a suitable pan to cook some eggs. The kitchen has baking ingredients, but not much else in the way of supplies (1 burned pan, 1 pot, a couple small baking sheets, no paper towels or napkins.) Oven knob was broken off, so it's really hard to turn it on.
Skyler himself gets 5 stars. But everything else deserves 3 stars only.
Thanks for the review Vanessa! Thank you for the information as well. We'll be sure to take care of those concerns and make sure the other items that we have provided like pots, pans and napkins are easy for guests to locate. Also we have found that window A/C units are a little easier for guests than Swamp coolers which is why we don't use the swamp coolers.
Very accommodating & communicative host. This was our first air b&b experience and it was exactly what we were looking for. Thanks Skyler!
Skyler was a great host, contacting us right after booking and offering expertise about the area. The unit itself is an older apartment, somewhat sparsely outfitted, and on our particular one night visit, not quite as clean as it could be, but with such a short visit, we didn't follow up and I'm sure it would have been corrected.
The location is great. Visitors should know it is on a hill, something to keep in mind when parking and unloading, or if hills are a challenge.
The capital area was pretty and great for walking. Keep in mind the photo provided is not a view from the apartment but very near.
