The $30 GCNP entrance pass (not included here) is good for the whole (URL HIDDEN) think about staying more than one night. The park pass is also good for the North Rim too. That being said...
HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY is a European styled B&B and the CLOSEST B&B to the GRAND CANYONS SOUTH RIM! We're only 20 minutes away from the GCNP entrance gates! All stays, over $159, include breakfast (See below for specifics.) We have 20 acres of peace, quiet and serenity with super-easy and DIRECT ACCESS on/off AZ HWY 64 (to Grand Canyon) with free parking right out in front!
A water feature out back draws elk, deer, pronghorn sheep (aka antelope), various raptors, songbirds, hummingbirds, bunnies, coyotes and native wildlife too various to mention. We are a Certified Wildlife Habitat with the National Wildlife Federation.
Also, you can actually see stars and the Milky Way horizon-to-horizon, especially on new moon nights! However, full-moon nights are something to experience too. These are just a few special qualities you'll experience here, oh-so-close, to the Grand Canyon.
Before we get started, please note: Rooms accommodate TWO persons ONLY.
Offered is The HUMMINGBIRD ROOM. After a big day at the Grand Canyon, there is a queen super-pillowtop bed for your comfy-cozy visit to dreamy-dreamland. There is a SHARED full-bath w/the Pilot Room. If calendar shows booked, and you'd really like to stay with us, drop me an line/inquiry and I may be able to help.
As there has been a bit of confusion and I don't want anyone disappointed, PLEASE, NOTE: Any rate less than $159 include coffee/tea and homemade banana bread (not our standard breakfasts listed below).
-Overnight stay includes our packed "to-go" SOUTH RIM BREAKFAST PICNIC.
-Two nights includes our South Rim Breakfast Picnic and our leisurely, sit-down YUMMY-FOR-YOUR-TUMMY southwestern style breakfast. Or if you're really on the move and don't have time for a leisurely breakfast (served between 8:30a-9a, the Picnic is available both mornings.
-A three nights retreat includes two picnics and a sit-down. Or three picnics if you'd like.
-Four+ nights...let's talk!
Our South Rim Breakfast Picnic is fab for a sunrise breakfast on The Rim or to take along if you hit the road early.
Our Yummy-for-Your-Tummy breakfast can be taken out back under the umbrellas where you can enjoy the wide-open spaces and various birds (especially hummingbirds in spring/summer-though numbers start to dwindle by mid-Sept). Who knows, maybe an elk or coyote might trot by. Either is a lovely way to start the day.
Again, OFF-SEASON RATES LESS THAN $159 INCLUDES COFFEE/TEA or JUICE AND HOMEMADE BANANA BREAD. If your rate is less than standard and would like full-breakfasts let me know as there are ways to handle this..
We are flexible up here Grand Canyon way. So, please, if you have further questions or special requests send them on over and let's see what can be done. Look forward to talking w/you soon.
Let it be known pets on property. So, if you have allergies bring along proper medication, if needed, or an aversion to pet hair, please do not stay with us.
Cookie-Monster, our large medium-sized lab mix is a work in progress (a rescue w/diminishing trust issues thanks to the kindness of previous guests). She has two cats. LoverBoy and Razzle-Dazzle. LB was born under the house (feral). RD is no longer a visitor but permanent addition to the HHJJ crew. He loves people, will head-butt you and purr loudy. Don't be surprised if he comes visit you in your room so, keep door shut if you don't want a kitty visit.
Rates are subject to change until you are a confirmed guest.
Guests are welcome in the common areas and will get a quick walk-through the "Rainbow" house.
The county restricts kitchen use! However, using the microwave and putting a few things in the fridge are okay with me.
Interaction with Guests
This is my home so will, more often than not, be around to answer any questions and give a point in the right direction, if needed.
There is no public transportation in the area. Once inside Grand Canyon National Park, there is free shuttle service.
Also, bike rentals are available around the Visitor Center.
Other Things to Note
At this point, do NOT count on internet service!
There is very limited cell/internet service in the area.
I have moved internet provider and continue to have HUGE issues with connectivity. And until these issues are resolved, working consistently and smoothly, please, DO NOT EXPECT to use internet service on property! There are serveral wi-fi connections available in Tusayan (not sure about The Canyon). Also, if you don't know this (I certainly didn't but I'm tech~challenged)...your cell phone, if it includes data, can be used as a hotspot!! Even on "roam," chances are you have a better chance a good stable signal than here!!
I am soooo sorry for this inconvenience!! It's one of the prices we pay for being out in the middle-of-nowhere. If you need to look at check your email or look up something on the web, we can try to use my laptop. THANK YOU for you understanding on this matter!! (You have know idea what a hassle this has been since moving providers.)

It is imperative to PRINT & BRING ALONG, IN-HAND, A COPY OF THE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS!! If you peruse some of the reviews you will understand why this is so important. I used to go into all the reasons but hardly anyone reads them. So, that your stay here is smooth and stress-free (remember you're going to be out in the middle-of-nowhere) do us both a service and, please, PLEASE, PRINT & BRING ALONG THE SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS!! They are in your itinerary. Trust me, you'll be HAPPY~JOY you did!!! You may also be able to find us in mapping programs.
