This house has a magnificent view which we enjoyed all day. I especially loved watching the fog lift at dawn. The trees were majestic. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the hot tub. I loved all of the wonderful items the owner had collected. This is not a minimalist house and I felt privileged to be among the treasures. Both the owner and manager were helpful and communicative. We did find the house quite dusty as it had not been used in awhile. We communicated that to the owner and he was responsive. We also found the beds in need of replacement because they were soft and dipped. If the housekeeping and bed situation are changed, this will be a magical place to stay.
From the moment we arrived at Burt's house we were not only impressed by the view but by the warmth of his home. Burt has a lot of great conversation pieces that he's collected throughout his life and it tells a story of a life well lived. The place was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the peace of the forest came over us very quickly. It's really easy to get in and out of downtown from his place via taxi for around $5 each way. I would not hesitate to rent his place again as it provided the perfect holiday getaway for our group.
We had an amazing trip. This home is very special and offers a beautiful view.
Burt and his manager David were very quick to respond and helpful prior to our arrival. The place is enormous and amazing - could not recommend it enough. It's so warm and comfortable and a really wonderful place to spend a weekend, though still only a couple minutes drive into downtown Guerneville. I couldn't recommend it more.
