Stay here and experience the best of Portland in a vintage 1920's apartment. You will have the entire apartment to yourself. It's a large fully furnished studio apartment. The space is suitable one person or a couple and would be ideal for short-term or long-term stays.
Help yourself to the coffee and breakfast goodies: oatmeal, frozen waffles, and yogurt.
The space has fast, reliable WIFI so you can kick back and watch Netflix, work, whatever.
There is an indoor bike storage and locking area but I also don't mind if you keep a bike in the unit itself.
The bed is a queen size mattress. Fresh bedding is always provided for each new guest. There are four pillows (feather and synthetic), cotton sheets, and a down comforter.
There is a full kitchen with range, oven, and fridge along with everything you might need to cook - pot's, pans, dishes, etc...
Clean bath towels and hand towels are provided. There is ample toilet paper, and help yourself to the shampoo, conditioner, and soaps.
There is coin-operated laundry on site.
When you arrive, I will meet with you and give you your own set of keys and the space is yours for the time scheduled.
Everything. When you arrive I will give you keys and you will have the entire unit to yourself.
Interaction with Guests
I only see guests when meeting them for keys.
Centrally located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Portland. Downtown is just a short walk away. Or stay close-by and enjoy the chill neighborhood vibe and restaurants that Portland has become so famous for. Distillery Row and many brew-pubs are all within walking distance! There are only a few other places to stay in this zip-code which makes this unit a real gem!
Downtown is so close you can walk there in 20-25 minutes. Take a walk along the river-front, check out the lovely rose gardens in Ladd's Addition, or head just two blocks up to Colonel Summers Park and you might be treated to the sounds of Modest Mouse rehearsing nearby. Like most of Portland, the neighborhood has a reputation for being very safe... you never need to worry about walking places alone or at night or anything like that.
You can take the #15 bus that stops just across the street. If you bring a car, there is also plenty of on-street non-metered parking. Car2Go member?.. we have Car2Go's here! Cabs can be called and on average arrive within ten minutes. If you bring a bike, there is a bike storage room in the building.
Other Things to Note
If there is anything I can do to make your stay more comfortable, please don't hesitate to ask. While I am out of your hair after you check in, I am only a phone call or text away should anything arise.. happy to help!
As you can probably tell when you first arrive, I like to keep the place clean and tidy. I kindly ask that you do everything you can to keep it that way during your stay. There is a vacuum cleaner, broom, mop, and other cleaning supplies. Even any mishaps should occur, please attend to them right away.
Convenient location within walking distance to everything. Bed is quite comfy. Had a bit of trouble checking in but it was worked out quickly...
The photos of the unit make it appear much more homey and inviting than the actual experience. The furniture and decor is different (no cute red eating nook, the speakers, plants and wall decor are no longer in the unit) which leaves the place feeling much more dark and basic. It is a street level apartment so the bright windows that you see in the photos look onto a cyclone fence and dirty parking lot so we couldn't keep them open to let any light in.
Furthermore, Trystan notes how important cleanliness in the unit is, however everything was a little dirty. It is an old building which has great charm, but everything felt like it needed to be scrubbed. I'm not even that much of a clean freak but I felt like I didn't want to touch anything.
Getting ahold of Trystan for check in details the week of our trip was very difficult as well. I finally heard back from him the evening before our check in after 3 days of trying to get ahold of him via text, email, phone calls and Air BNB messages.
We had a wonderful time on our trip, but that unfortunately was not made any better by staying in this unit.
If you just need a place to leave your things while you're explore the town, this place is affordable and convenient. If you want to have a cute and cozy place to go between outings, this may not be the best rental for you.
I had a positive experience staying here. The studio had everything I needed for the weekend, including a few complementary items in the fridge that were much appreciated after a long day of travel. Other notable things: great water pressure, very clean kitchen and bathroom, great location and very easy/friendly check-in and out. Thanks!
The location was great. I was close Cascade Brewing and Hair of the Dog Brewery, along with other great food places. Host left the apartment very clean with a lot of amenities. I would definitely stay here again. 10/10
This apartment just felt right. The location is perfect, parking is easy, the apartment combines old-world charm with up to date wi-fi. And, IT IS BETTER THAN THE PHOTOS. There is a real bed now, with nice sheets and a good mattress. I am eager to return.
The listing was exactly the studio apartment we stayed in. Trystan communicated quickly and very accommodating to adding an extra night for us. The location is right around the corner from Floyd's coffee shop which made each morning much easier. Being on a main road was easy to find since I walked everywhere.
Great accommodations. Very neat, clean, and comfortable. Portland was cold when we stayed there, but the heater was fabulous. Particularly liked the double secure-access. No problem connecting with Trystan or gaining access; it was all very convenient. Lots to do within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again. Definitely a studio apartment as the bed is located in the same room as the sofa. This is a little hard to tell from the photos, but it wasn't an issue as there was plenty of space for our belongings.
