The Space

The terrace house (120sqm) sits in private mews with parking in Zone 2 Bow (not Poplar as stated something is wrong with the postcode). Its situated close to the Olympic Village, Victoria Park and Mile End Tube/Bow road DLR, 24 hour no 8 bus, serving Shoreditch, The City and Oxford Street

1. Take your shoes off area! (I've spent a lifetime travelling, and love the cultures where they take there shoes off at the entrance). The house feels cleaner and lighter too!!
2. Kitchen - dishwasher . washer dryer. Gas hob, Neff Oven, Fridge/Freezer, Delongi coffee and espresso maker with coffee bean grinder, Delongi Kettle, Stella Pots n Pans, Plates, Bowls, etc.
3. Living room - Lignet roset Sofa/bed, 42inch Flat screen with dvd player, printer and scanner

Fantastic location in a hip and culturally diverse area of London. In the immediate area is Roman road market and Victoria park. Take the no 8 bus towards Hoxton and the lively local street markets of Columbia Road flower market, Brick Lane, Broadway Market, Spitalfields and Pettycoat Lane. Much loved by artists and city financiers alike the area offers vibrant restaurants, music venues, bars and night life as well as renowned galleries and museums - the Cube and Geffrye Museum being perhaps best known.

Alternatively take a leisurely stroll through the City to St Pauls, over the Millennium Bridge to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and have some lunch at The Tate Modern. Or head West and wonder around antique Bloomsbury, explore the wonderful treasures of the British Museum and pop in at one of the four Inns of Court to get a feel for medieval London. If you are feeling energetic there are many cycle paths along the canals which are great for poodling around on a lazy Sunday with a pit stop at the local pub.

Got to do some work? The apartment is just 20 minutes away from the financial district and Liverpool Street. There are excellent train connections plus 24hr bus links for easy access to Central London.

Your choices are endless as the area truly has something for everyone.

The area is multi-coloured - like the house! With a rich mix of culture, from the East-enders, English, Carribeans, Turkish, Greeks, Indians, Pakistani, Bengali, French, Spanish, Brazilian, Polish...the list goes on.....

Local shops - 30 seconds away! For a bigger shop I prefer to order on-line and have groceries delivered.

Claire Denise Harrigan; Multimedia Artist and health/wellbeing specialist from London, teams up with a Swedish interior architect Asa Oveland to create a holistically designed space aimed at enhancing people’s lifestyle while being environmentally friendly. The key features of this Ritual Retreat concept are: The heart of the home is Dazie: a central, computerised home management lighting system designed by Morban Intelligent Living.
The house is heated by an energy efficient system designed by Eco-Gas, using solar panels and water based underfloor heating. Low toxic sustainable materials are used throughout the house, including natural paints, plasters, & sheep’s wool insulation. The concept integrates colour therapy into the design through LED lighting and a multipurpose ‘Happy Shower’ that washes you in colour as you cleanse.

The Zen Den

Underfloor heated polished concrete, keeps your feet delightfully warm in the winter months, and cool in the summer. A large open planned high spec kitchen sits in the North East corner, with a hand made leather and teak bar separating the chill out zone complimented with a 42in plasma screen and surround system. A flexible dining table or office area sits infront of the patio doors (south facing), which open fully to create a feeling of bringing the outside in, ideal for Summer entertaining and great light in the grey winter months.

As you climb the Teak staircase, held by white bamboo, you approach a large hallway, with a pebble cut outs lit with sensor lighting, a white budda sits peacefully in the corner and a large mirror creates a feeling of space. Full height doors, with push/pull franchi door handles lead the way to a

Super king size sleeping platform - latest high tech sleeping system from Nikken enhances restful sleep and assists in the journey to complete wellness.
Simply designed for sleep. A doorway slides to relieve a totally functional zone - can be styled either as a nursery/office/sitting room or 3rd Bedroom.

The Golden Pebble sits in the walk in rain shower, complimented by a reflexology floor of balinese pebbles. Surrounded by wooden tiles you simply are taken to a tropical sphere. The Stark WC and Bidet sit suspended over another pebble cut out, and the chandlier sparkle over the handmade basin and teak cabinet.

Simply heavenly on the top floor, a japanese style bed sits in the middle of the room. A light airy loftstyle room with 7 m of storage. The happy shower separates the Japanese bathing ritual, which changes colour to your own combination. Have the sky purple and the shower pink, plenty of colour combinations for every mood and sensation.

The Neighborhood

I've lived in the east end on and off for 20 years. I love the bargains you find in the roman road market, the friendly eastenders, and the space and nature of victoria park and regents canal.

Getting around

No 8 bus, straight through shoreditch and the city to oxford street...or mile end tube. Very main preference is cycling on the boris bikes..

  • We stayed in this beautiful house over the Bank holiday weekend in August. We needed to be close to Heathrow Airport and also access central London easily. This house was in a great location and perfect for our party of 8. Claire was extremely helpful and a delight to be in contact with. Her housekeepers Petr and Helen were lovely and welcoming! We needed car parking, so it was great to have that and the Mile End tube station was within waking distance. Thank you Claire, Petr and Helen. Would definitely recommend.

  • My friends and I visited London for a festival and stayed at Claire's 3 bedroom house. The house is amazing!! So spacious and modern. My friends and I had such a great time, we all thoroughly enjoyed! The house has everything you need and more! Great location and easy parking. When we arrived at the house we were welcomed by Claire's friends (the cleaners) Helen and Peter, they were fab! They even brought us all bacon rolls and pastries! We had such a great time! Thank you Claire for your hospitality :)

  • This apartment is perfect if you are more than 4 people: we stayed in 7 and appreciate the large space of the living room, the double bathrooms and the big bedrooms! The apartment is big, modern and clean.

    Perfect for the Olimpic Village, just 10 minutes (or less) by bus.

    I really enjoyed the athmosphere of Roman Road. As Claire says the fantastic location in a hip and culturally diverse area of London will surprise you! Enjoy!

  • This apartment is an excellent place to stay if your looking for somewhere out of the way from the hustle and bustle of London centre and near to East London's facilities such as Brick lane. The interior is beautiful, very spacious and easily sleeps 8 people. The lighting in the apartment is by far the best feature and adds to the overall vibe. The bathrooms are also very well designed, with lots of space and excellent facilities. Overall our stay here was wonderful, would recommend it to all!
