Dana was a great host, interesting, warm person and her apartment is spacious, clean and lovely decorated. Dana awaited us with a very nice moroccan lunch and introduced us to the neighbourhood. Every morning her nice housekeeper, Aicha, prepared a lovely breakfast. Dana was also helpful with tips about Marrakesh and arranging trips out of town. All in all our experience at Dana's exceeded our expectations.
Danas appartement was a pleasant surprise. Much bigger than expected and decorated with delightful maroccan handcraft. We enjoyed our stay, and already miss Aishas good msemmen. Would definitly come back!
Dana made us feel very welcome, arranging for us to be collected from the airport, and ensuring we had breakfast as well as some wine/drinks on arrival.
She had lots of recommendations for us and was very quick to respond to emails with suggestions over where to buy things, things to see and how much to pay. She put us in contact with a taxi driver, Hassan who is lovely and also arranged for us an amazing day trip to the Atlas Mountains with one of her friends' companies.
The apartment is very nicely decorated and is very homely. We enjoyed sitting on the balconies in the evening and it is very light and airy, whilst also feeling very secure due to the presence of a 24hr concierge. It is also in a very good area of Gueliz, close to the main station (so easy to find) and nearby to very good international and French restaurants. The Medina is only 30Dh and 10 minutes away by petit taxi.
We had a lovely stay. We would highly recommend. Apartment was extremely spacious, very clean, nicely decorated, modern with local decor, and an amazing breakfast!
I am an American designer who has worked in international cinema in Morocco for the past 24 years becoming a real "Moroccan specialist". I am based in Marrakech, but have worked and traveled extensively in all of Morocco and Mauritania. I have accumulated so much information about this part of the world through my work and travels and I love to share it.
I specialize in combining the traditions of the artisan with modern manufacturing and will be launching a collection of textiles in the near future.
