Great location
92% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
The Town Cabin offers charming lodging in the historic Elm Heights neighborhood, 0.3 miles (or an 8 minute walk) from the Jacobs School of Music on the Indiana University campus. The cabin was built in 1840 and used originally as a wash house. It features a lofted bedroom, stone fireplace, spacious living area, WiFi, a newly updated bathroom and kitchen. Staying here is a quiet country retreat in close proximity of the IU campus and downtown Bloomington. Off street parking is included.

The space
The cabin offers many little spaces to rest and relax. I don't provide breakfast but I do leave snacks in addition to coffee and tea. Please Note: The cabin is equipped with modern amenities but it is also a rustic experience. It does not have a TV. We also use a French press instead of a regular coffee maker. Please be sure that this is the kind of lodging experience you are looking for before you book.

Where you’ll be

Bloomington, Indiana, United States

My neighborhood is full of beautiful houses made mostly of brick and local limestone. It is a quiet residential neighborhood and is walking distance to Indiana University's campus. Also within walking distance are coffee shops, a bagel shop, and several restaurants and pubs. Jogging distance is Bryan Park and the Rail Trail and B-line.

I am originally from South Africa and ended up in Bloomington to teach at Indiana University many years ago. Other than work, I garden, stated running marathons late in life, and like to restore old furniture and homes. I enjoy meeting people and dogs. You will have privacy and independence staying The Town Cabin but Jenni and I are ready to help if you need anything.
