Interaction with Guests
I will be in the city to accommodate any needs on-site, but not at the condo itself.
This lively neighbourhood is packed with trattorias, trendy restaurants, cafés, pool halls and some of the hottest nightclubs in Toronto. College St. and Kensington Market sidewalks are humming with activity on weekends – especially in the summer, with locals and visitors alike sipping espressos on outdoor patios.
YES - North South East West - the TTC is literally on the doorstep to take you anywhere you want to go in the city.
Other Things to Note
Laundry in condo.
Walking distance to the University of Toronto campus and all the hospitals downtown for short term stays.
This is a non-smoking unit that does not allow for cats or dogs that shed. Guests are expected not to remove art, furniture or other hospitality items. Although there is no cleaning fee - I do expect the condo to be returned in the same condition guests arrived.
We had a great three month stay in Tade's condo. The pictures accurately represent the condo. We found it be very comfortable and cozy, especially when it was below freezing outside! Tade was a very nice host and treated us very well. We were able to walk to the University every day and the neighborhood is full of interesting restaurants and shops. It felt very safe as well. I highly recommend Tade and her condo and would definitely stay there again if we return to Toronto.
The appartement was great and comfortable! It is very well equipped and it made us feel just like home. The view on the skyline and the CN tower is breathtaking.
The only thing we regretted is that we didn't got to meet with Tade.
I recommend this place and will be glad to come back anytime!
The apartment is beautiful, great view, great location, amazing view. LOVE the 'hood!
Guests should make sure they bring ear plugs as the apartment directly looks over a busy intersection with trolleys going by all night. If you're used to a queen/king-sized bed, the double-size futon is not as roomy as you might be used to.
Thanks Jeff. Just a note so your message doesn't confuse other guests - the bed is a double but it is an actual mattress rather than a futon (quilted bed mat). And the streetcar doesn't go all night - for those who love the trolley for going in all four directions from the condo - you can get anywhere, but if you expect to get home at all hours, it does run during late hours, but similar to a bus service, so you'll need a cab to get back to the condo.
Tade's condo was just as pictured. The pictures did not do justice, however, to the nest chair which, if you opened up the blinds, showed a beautiful view of the CN tower. The place was spotless, and the kitchen was stocked with most of the staples: flour, sugar, tea, oil, etc. I did venture to the top floor of the building to see if there was a gym, and it appears to be mainly unused step machines and ellipticals. I also did find there was a lot of traffic/streetcar noise, and at -25C and floor-to-ceiling glass in the bedroom, it was a tiny bit drafty.
As a host, Tade was responsive and prompt with messages, however she did take a "hands off" approach when I stayed -- I did not see her once. On the whole, however, a very nice trip. A hotel in the area would have cost more, and likely not have had the beautiful view.
Our whole experience staying at Tade's condo was welcoming. Communication was informative, kind and conscientious. The condo itself was perfect for our needs: clean, bright, beautifully decorated and in an interesting and fun neighbourhood. It took us a night to become accustomed to the street noises, but appreciated the streetcars when we wanted them! The kitchen and dining area were perfect for us to be able to host our family to turkey dinner on Christmas Day. How wonderful is that!
I spent four months in Tade's apartment while visiting the University of Toronto and I can attest to the fact that she is a wonderful host. She is very responsive and friendly and did everything possible to make me feel welcome. The apartment is in a very convenient location - close to the university, Kensington Market, China Town, and Little Italy - and there are tons of great dining options. The street car stop is right out front and it takes about 30 seconds to hail a cab. The apartment itself is comfortable and clean, with stunning views of the city. I highly recommend it for both short and long stays!
I spend most of my time with my partner and kids, so it is terrible to see my sweet condo sit empty! I like to keep the space available for visiting family and friends, but for the rest of the time I'm happy to open it up to people visiting the city.
When I was there, I would use the gym upstairs, enjoy the cool breeze and city view on the roof top patio with a glass of wine and friends, and spend hours curled up, relaxing in the nest chair. I hope you do the same!
Finally, I am a wedding Officiant in the province of Ontario, so if you are in the city and plan to get married... just let me know! ;)
