Sophie's cottage is fantastic, its a great location, very quiet, and with easy access into central Dublin. Chapelizod village is lovely, having all of the local amenities that you will need - including a good pub. The cottage has all of the facilities that you will need - it is truly lovely. Sophie was an excellent host, despite being away. She made sure we were able to get the key even though we arrived late at night.
Parking is a bit of an issue (as it is in all of Dublin) as there are restrictions from 7am until midnight every day on the streets immediately around the village. It is pay and display with 3 hours maximum. And there is plenty of clamping going on. However, there is a street with free parking 2 mins walk away.
Great location, close to bus into Dublin and Heuston station. Beautifully furnished and comfortable for 4 adults. We had a great experience. Thanks

We stayed at Sophie's over Xmas and NYE for about two weeks in total. The place pretty much perfect for us -- outside the city enough to feel like a vacation, but near enough to everything so as to not get bored.
We didn't meet Sophie in person, but she was quick to respond if we needed anything, and the house info was nearly laid out. The place itself is beautiful, spacious, clean, and right next to Phoenix Park -- the best thing about Dublin. We fed the deer in the mornings and took long walks into the city, beautiful even in winter. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
This little place is just perfect! I arrived late on a cold dark Friday evening with two tired children. The place was immediately homely - warm and cosy. The complimentary food and beverages left was most appreciated at that hour of the evening and saved me a trip to the shop. Although we didn't spend a huge amount of time in the house (we just used it as a base to see other friends in Dublin). we will be back again and we will most definitely be recommending it to others. Chapelizod is very accessible to Dublin city centre and the bus stop is right outside. In addition it is very close to the Phoenix Park. This is a real gem, thank you Sophie, your place is just lovely! In addition, any interaction we had with Sophie, by email / text (before and while we were there) was so easy. She was very helpful with everything and a pleasure to deal with.
Sophie communicated very well with us. However we didn’t have such a good stay. The bin was full of rubbish. There was a vase full of old flowers and smelly water. The dishwasher had old dishes in it. The linen on one bed was smelly. Sophie stated on her ad that she was a foodie so you would expect some nice breakfast however there was some muesli, a small amount of milk, no coffee and a savaged old block of dirty butter. Her pillows were old and lumpy, one sheet was bally and had a hole in it....Sorry Sophie I feel other guests should know. Sophie was very apologetic however I feel a small refund would have been nice. I would like to have said Sophie apologised and offered some refund as any small business would.
