Dar Sondos is well located near a main access road . It easy to find and no problem to come back late at night.
it is in the Rcif area of the ancient city of Fes. Dar Sondas 1 was a wonderful place to stay. Sophia went out of our way to make our stay comfortable and the room was great.
It was our first time in Morroco and Fes was our first introduction to the country. We did not know what to expect but we left with nothing but positive experiences of Dar Sondos and Fes. Mounis arranged to have us picked up from the airport which is important since it would be virtually impossible to find your way there. It's situated in a residential part of the medina, so it feels very aunthetic. We were greeted by Mounis and shown around. Luckily for us, we were the only guests during our stay and had the whole riad to ourselves. Sophia, the housekeeper really looked after us well. She made us fantastic breakfasts which we ate on the lovely rooftop terrace every morning. The riad has been carefully restored and had lovely crafted stucco and painted decorations on the wall and doors. All in all, a lovely place and hosts.
I had a wonderful stay here. As a woman travelling alone, Mouanis and Sophia tended to all my needs, arranging pick up at the train station, and from the Sacred Fes Festival music concerts quite late in the evening (midnight and after), which was greatly appreciated. Sophia was very sweet and attentive to every detail. The visit to the traditional hammam was a wonderfully relaxing experience. The terrace room was a delight, with beautiful hand-painted features, as was breakfast outside every morning. Many thanks for a great stay!
Mouanis helped us arrange a cab ride from the train station to our Airbnb. He made sure everything was in order before arrived at 2AM in the morning, which was great. Also Sofia was super hospitable and answered all our questions.
Bonne continuation !
My boyfriend and I stayed at Dar Santos when we visited Fez. Our train arrived late at 12 midnight , so Mouanis was so kind enough to arrange for a cab driver to come pick us up. He responded promptly to all our emails and was very accommodating to all our needs. Dar Santos was one the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. It was clean, spacious, quiet, and beautiful! Our room had beautiful Moroccan engravings and artwork offering a sense of romanticism. Our riad was one of among many, but it was very special because of Sofia’s kindness, warmth, and sweet spirit. Every morning began with a beautiful and delicious breakfast arranged as though we were in a palace. We had fresh fruit, yogurt, delicious Moroccan mint tea, crepes, and all different choices of jams, honey, and bread with cheese. In the midst of the frenzy of the Medina, Dar Santos was a peaceful safe haven we returned to each night. Besides all our fabulous breakfasts, Sofia helped us to inquire about train schedules on the office computer and made phone calls for us. She also made special recommendations for places to visit in Fez. Sofia made us feel like family while we visited Fez. We highly recommend Dar Santos to anyone who is seeking quality and great hospitality.
We had a nice stay in this Riad. The breakfast was perfect and Sofia and Mouanis were always willing to help. Very friendly, good wifi and nice roof terrace.
Rooms were quite humid but this might be normal here in the Medina. We were the first guest so we could choose the nicest room.
We recommend this Riad!

About the Host, Mouanis
I was born and brought up in the Fez Medina and know it very well. I began working by selling souvenirs on the street and worked my up to become the site manager on many renovations - including "Riad Zany", made famous by the book "A House in Fez". I continue to work as a translator, maintenance manager and general assistant for a number of long term foreign residents in Fez.
Dar Sondos was a labour of love - I have spent several years, together with my friends, making this traditional house as beautiful as possible so I can share it with others.
