Situated on edge of town but central to all the beaches & sites. Castlerock, Downhill, Mussendun Temple to the west, Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Carrick A Rede rope bridge to the East.
With direct access to airports & cities Belfast & Derry.
This house is a converted mews building with thick old stone walls and tasteful contemporary decor.
I am an artist living on site and my original artworks decorate the house throughout.
Kitchen and incorporated living area.
Off road parking directly outside house.
Interaction with Guests
I usually meet guests on arrival. I am happy to provide lots of info on the area.
I live in the house but use the sitting room as my own space.
You have the kitchen and sofa to use as your own living area. With the Rayburn cooker on it is particularly cosy.
There will always be tea, coffee freely available at anytime and lots of marmalade & toast for breakfast.
The area is fantastic to access local beaches and site seeing on the North Coast. Amenities close to the house are excellent with coffee shops, supermarket, cinema, gym and hotel being just a minutes drive away as is a walk by the river or the forest.
The mews is quiet and picturesque.
The town has a railway station with trains to Derry or Belfast, every hour.
Local bus service with bus stop a minute from the house.
I would advise that you hire a car to explore the areas full potential.
Other Things to Note
There is some public transport along the north coast but it is advisable to hire a car.
Mussenden Temple 15 mins away
Giants Causeway 20 mins
Portrush 15 mins
1 hour by motorway to Belfast
and 35 mins to Derry.
Its worth noting that the train journey from Coleraine to Derry City hosts amazing views with the train traveling close to the waters edge and with views of Donegal in the distance.
Mea's place is as described: very welcoming, cosy, nicely decorated, and super clean.
She is a very nice and arranging host, and she has good advice to visit the area.
There is free parking space, which is very convenient. Note that the region needs to be visited with a car.
Upon arrival, Mea was very welcoming, despite us checking in quite late. The room was beautiful and comfy. Mea was very friendly and knowledgable about the area with ideas of things to do and great to chat with in general! Breakfast was great the next morning and we felt relaxed from arrival to departure. Would definitely recommend this as a good place to stay while exploring NI.
First of all we would like to thank you for a great time. Mea helped us to have a wonderful time. She was willing to give us a very good advices where to go and what to do and I am not talking about a friendly and welcoming personality that she has.:) Place look great, really cozy, even the bed is comfy. We cannot say anything else just highly recommend this place to anyone else. We found even more than we looked for ;)
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this gorgeous B&B. The bedroom and bathroom is just as described (comfortable, clean and inviting) and I definitely had a relaxed and peaceful time.
Mea is a wonderful host. Really helpful (advice on what to see and where to eat) and made us feel at ease. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who is wanting to visit Mussenden Temple, Giant's Causeway etc. as all are within a reasonable distance or just in need of a relaxing stay in the countryside.
mea's house is very very beautiful, comfortable, clean and perfectly located to visit the giant's causeway, carrick a rede rope bridge, the dunluce castle and the mussenden temple which Mea suggested to visit and that ended up being one of the best spots we visited during our northern ireland trip. the neighbourhood is lovely, the room and the bathroom are amazing and clean and Mea is the perfect host. 5 stars, I would definetly suggest it to anyone visiting the area. thanks Mea.
Mea's place was beautiful, warm, comfortable & perfect for weary travelers. She recommended several local places to dine & we ended up in Portrush for a wonderful evening of music & dining. Would highly recommend Mia's place!
I am a working artist finishing my fine art degree in June 2014.
